Flanged riser screens and riser pipes are purposely designed to be connected with submersible pumps as this kind of joint bears, without consequences for the pipes, the twisting strength due to pump ignition and stresses resulting from its operation.

Flanges do not have any vulnerable area coming from reduction on pipes wall thickness, their overall dimensions are reduced to minimum in order to be laid in small diameter wells, they are lined for better sealing and have slots for power cable.

Pipe based well screens consist of base pipe and the wire wrap screen jacket.The base pipe is perforated or slotted welded or seamless casing pipes(stainless steel or carbon steel).The screen jacket are welded together with base pipe by supporting rod. Opening area for the base pipe is up to 15% and for the jacket is up to 40%.Jacket slot size between 0.15mm to 15mm.
