Center for Quality Center for Quality was established with the aim of providing the missing knowledge in the field of Quality.

End of previous and the beginning of this millennium, undoubtedly was marked with the efforts of people to increase the level of quality of their own life, which can be achieved only by increasing the quality of products (hardware, software, process materials and services), which serve to meet the needs of people. The Government of the Republic of Serbia, at the end of 1992, passed the Decision on

quality improvement in the Republic of Serbia. Based on that Decision, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac since 1993 (through the established Center for Quality) was intensively involved in the national movement for quality, directing a part of their teaching staff in activities which support the national movement for quality. By hiring experts from Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Kragujevac some organizations received a certificate for recognition of quality systems, and some have begun establishing a quality system according to JUS ISO 9000 standards. On the proposal of the Department of Production Engineering, the Board of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac, in the session held on 15 October 1998, decides to establish a Centre for Quality and the appointment of Prof. Dr. Slobodan Smiljanića as the first head of the center. Center for Quality (CQM) is a nonprofit organization that operates in South Eastern Europe. Center for Quality was established with the aim of providing the missing knowledge in the field of quality and becomes one of the pillars of quality infrastructure in Serbia and beyond. Combining the knowledge of CQM associates, scientists and experts from other faculties and institutes within the country and from the business world, CQM achieved a great synergy effect, which became the trademark of CQM service quality. Initial activities of the CQM are related to consulting in the field of development and establishment of quality systems, training for the implementation of ISO 9000 standards, mainly in large and medium-size manufacturing organizations. At the turn of the 21st century the focus, at the world business level, has increasingly shifted towards small and medium organizations in the field of services. Which led to the growing portfolio of CQM services, through the integrated management systems, such as: CE marking, accreditation of laboratories, accreditation of study programs, marketing studies, development and product packaging, web and organizational design, development of information systems, etc., Because of its results Center for Quality has profiled itself as a recognizable and highly competent supplier of services in the field of quality. Center is certified by the National standardization agency in Serbia on 28 November 2002 and re-certified in 2006 and 2011. Center for Quality and its associates have, in the current development of the national movement for quality, affirmed and proven as successful workers in the field of quality and the true promoters of the National Movement for Quality in Serbia.
