Engineering Below Ground: A Major Development is Coming to Limassol
CivilPro Tech Engineering is proud to be progressing the temporary works design for a highly demanding deep basement excavation involving four underground basement levels within groundwater conditions.
The project includes one of the most technically challenging excavation support schemes currently being developed in Cyprus, with the water table reaching approximately half the depth of the excavation. The design incorporates a temporary anchored diaphragm wall system, staged excavation sequencing, groundwater control, dewatering considerations, and detailed coordination between geotechnical and structural design requirements.
Deep excavations of this scale require careful assessment of ground behaviour, wall movements, anchor forces, groundwater pressures, construction stages, and the interaction between the temporary works and the permanent basement structure.
This is the type of engineering that remains largely hidden from view, but it is fundamental to the safe and successful delivery of complex urban developments.
