AmaDema was proud to support and participate in the EUDIS Defence Hackathon 2026 - Cyprus Edition as a Silver Sponsor.
Held in Nicosia from 15-17 October under the theme “Autonomy on the Battlefield,” the hackathon brought together innovators, engineers, researchers, startups and defence professionals to work on real-world challenges in autonomous systems and defence technology.
Representing AmaDema, our Mechanical Engineer, Andreas Stavrou, shared our capabilities in carbon fibre, advanced composite materials and custom composite component design and manufacturing.
As Cyprus continues to strengthen its defence and UAV technology ecosystem, having advanced manufacturing capabilities locally is an important part of turning innovative concepts and prototypes into real-world solutions.
At AmaDema, we are proud to contribute with expertise in advanced composite materials, technical fabrics and custom-made composite components, supporting the development of next-generation technologies from Cyprus.

A proud moment for AmaDema.

Our Co-Founder and Operating Director, Dr Katerina Sofocleous, was selected among the five finalists in the Bank of Cyprus Innovation category at the 21st Madame Figaro Women of the Year Awards 2026.
While the award did not come home this year, the nomination itself is a meaningful recognition of Katerina’s journey, dedication and contribution to innovation, research and advanced materials.
Behind every milestone are years of persistence, ideas that became technologies, challenges that became opportunities, and the determination to keep moving forward.
We are incredibly proud to see Katerina’s work and contribution recognised among women who are making a real impact in Cyprus.

AmaDema at Industry Space Days 2026! 🚀
AmaDema was delighted to participate in Industry Space Days 2026 on 16-17 September at ESA/ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, as part of the Cyprus Space Industry Association ( ).
Represented by Mr Savvas Assiotis, we joined fellow CSIA members at the shared exhibition stand, showcasing Cyprus’s growing space ecosystem and connecting with professionals from across the European space industry.
It was a pleasure to exchange ideas, meet potential partners and explore new opportunities for collaboration. We look forward to building on the connections made in Noordwijk!

“Multifunctional Composite Materials Enabled by Polymer Nanofibers: From Laboratory to Market”

In addition to his scientific contribution, Dr Vassilis Drakonakis also served as Chairman during the final day of the conference, contributing to the discussions and scientific programme of ICSAAM 2026.

Beyond the presentations, the conference was also a valuable opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, meet new people, exchange ideas and spend time together as part of the wider advanced materials community.

We were also pleased to see the next chapter of ICSAAM announced during the conference: ICSAAM 2027 will take place in Porto, Portugal, from 5 to 9 September 2027.

A warm thank you once again to the organisers, speakers and participants who made this year’s conference such a memorable experience.

We are delighted to welcome Dag Yang to as our Commercial Director.

Dag joins us at an important stage in AmaDema’s development, as we continue to strengthen our commercial capabilities and expand our engagement with customers, partners and international markets.
In his new role, Dag will work closely with our management and technical teams to develop new business opportunities, build strong and lasting partnerships, and help bring AmaDema’s advanced materials and composite solutions to a broader global market.
His appointment marks an important step in connecting our technical expertise and innovation with a focused, market-driven commercial strategy.
