One parent roll. Multiple finished filter elements. One automated process.
For an international manufacturer of filtration solutions, we designed and built an automatic machine for producing filter elements from cellulose and nonwoven materials.
The machine processes a wide parent roll of filter media and automatically performs:
• insertion of the pneumatic winding shaft and cores
• positioning of the upper and lower knives
• slitting to the required widths
• winding of individual filter elements
• cross-cutting, adhesive application and roll finishing
The entire process is controlled through an intuitive touchscreen interface.
The result is more consistent production, reduced manual handling, a lower risk of operator error and several manufacturing steps integrated into one process.
The machine was designed and manufactured from the ground up according to the customer’s material, product construction and production requirements. We adapted the machine to the customer’s process — not the customer’s process to a standard machine.
