• 🔹 lépe se připravit na budoucí scénáře

🌍 Protecting cultural heritage from climate risks
On 28 April 2026, The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the CAS hosted an online training within the INACO project, focused on tools for assessing climate risks to cultural and natural heritage.

Participants explored:
🔹 CNH-Care (Lite & Pro) – vulnerability assessment
🔹 INACO Risk Mapping Tool – climate hazard analysis

From floods 🌊 and fires 🔥 to long-term material degradation 🏛️, the session highlighted real threats affecting heritage sites and how data-driven tools can support better decision-making.

📊 Using climate models and satellite data, INACO helps identify risk hotspots and improve preparedness across Central Europe.

📍 Historická obydlí v krajině | Kolokvium & workshop 2026

Ve dnech 24.–25. dubna 2026 proběhlo v archeoskanzenu Curia Vitkov mezioborové kolokvium a edukativní workshop zaměřený na technologie, výstavbu, diagnostiku a údržbu historických obydlí.

Akce propojila odborníky z Akademie věd České republiky, ČVUT v Praze, Fakulta strojní, České vysoké učení technické v Praze , Historický ústav Akademie věd ČR a nakladatelství, Mendelova univerzita v Brně, Národní ústav lidové kultury, Archeologický ústav AV ČR Brno, v.v.i., i zástupce praxe (např. KOP a Tradiční stavební materiály - Trastam ) a nabídla kombinaci odborných přednášek a praktických ukázek, včetně tradičního zpracování dřeva a hliněných konstrukcí.

Cenná příležitost pro sdílení znalostí a propojení výzkumu s praxí v oblasti péče o kulturní dědictví.

Jaká témata dnes hýbou mechanikou konstrukcí? Tradiční lednový seminář mechaniky konstrukcí proběhl na VUT také v roce 2026. Stejně jako v předchozích letech byl pořádán v rámci projektu INODIN a k účasti byli pozváni akademici, studenti i zástupci relevantních firem. Seminář propojil akademickou sféru, studenty i zástupce praxe a nabídl aktuální pohledy na výzkum i aplikace v oboru.

🇪🇺 From Lake Balaton to better crisis management! We have concluded three days of hands-on testing and workshops with partners from across Europe.

🤝The highlight of day three was the exercise of co-development of protocols and procedures to manage risk before, during, and after crises. Beyond the technical work, it was a great chance to network and exchange real-world experiences from our different local regions.

🛠️ These sessions gave us exactly what we needed: practical feedback to refine our tools and tailor them to the needs of the end users. We are now moving into the final phase. The next step is a last round of field tests conducted directly with residents and stakeholders in every participating country.

🤝 A big thank you to the exercise organisers for keeping us on track and to our hosts at Lake Balaton for the hospitality. It was the perfect spot to turn complex ideas into workable solutions.

🌅 The first day of the INACO partnership meeting at Lake Balaton concluded with a study visit focused on the region’s natural and cultural heritage.

🤝 Partners visited the Fonyód pilot site, hosted by Mayor Barnabás Erdei. The visit to the high bank highlighted the impact of rapid erosion, where wind and heavy precipitation are causing the coastline to recede annually. These processes represent a significant challenge in the context of climate change and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events.

🏰 In addition to the environmental focus, the itinerary included the rich heritage of the West Balaton region, the Festetics Palace in Keszthely and the exploration of the cultural landscape shaped by 2,000 years of winemaking tradition.

📊 The meeting now moves into Day 2, with the agenda shifting toward workshops and specialized training in risk management.

Ve čtvrtek 5. března 2026 zavítali do našeho centra v Telči prof. Daniel Fairbanks a pan Nicolas Winton jr. Během zhruba hodinové návštěvy jsme jim představili celkové zaměření našeho ústavu i Centra Telč. S velkým zájmem si prohlédli klimatický větrný tunel Vincenc Strouhal a pozorně naslouchali i obsáhlému výkladu o možnostech tomografu ToraTom a neinvazivního zobrazování pomocí výpočetní tomografie. Doprovázeni byli Mgr. Blankou Křížovou, ředitelkou Mendelova muzea v Brně.
