REXUS/BEXUS Predator Team PREDATOR stands for PREssure Difference dependency on Altitude verificaTOR.

The PREDATOR experiment aims at advancing the aircraft navigation systems by verification of a new pressure difference measurement method. The PREDATOR experiment aims at advancing the the aircraft navigation systems by verification of a new pressure difference measurement method. The objective is to verify a measurement method using a specific arrangement of the pressure sensors. Project PREDATOR

is a result of an interfaculty collaboration ath the Czech
Technical University in Prague. Researchers from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Information Technology are working towards realisation of the aforementioned experiment within the BEXUS programme of the European Space Agency(ESA), German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and Swedish National Space Board (SNSB).

Around 14:40 Bexus 23 Gondola landed in the area of Northern Sweden southeast from Kiruna. The balloon has reached altitude of 32,2 km and kept floating at this level for a couple of hours!

We are delighted to announce that we have maintained full working capacity during all fundamental parts of the flight and we have obtained all the data necessary for a success of our experiment. The Rescue Team is now on its quest to localise the gondola and return the payload back to the Esrange Space Center. We'll keep you updated about what is yet to come! :)

Good morning everybody! The day has come, today we are launching our experiment along with Ehuspace Acorde, SignOn Experiment and OSCAR! We are up already since 3:30 CET when the hot countdown started. Currently we're at T-34 min till the start. Join us on this adventure through live stream at esrange.insupport.se

Launch Day 1: At the morning meeting it has been decided that the balloon with Bexus 22 experiments will be launched today and that's what's happening right now! Congratulations to our colleagues BX22 BULMA, STRATONAV Experiment, Lotus D and TDP-3 Vanguard .

Hopefully our launch window will be tomorrow or on Friday, so stay tuned, we'll provide you with more information soon!

We might be in Northern Sweden, but it's getting pretty hot in here! Bexus 23 is almost ready. In past few days we have been assembling our experiment and along with other teams, testing, testing, testing! Interference test 2 and Flight Compatibility Test are scheduled for today. Fingers crossed!

Amazing news! Last week we have received the final pass during the Experiment Acceptance Review and that means that we're officially flying! We also tested some final adjustments and everything is working well. 10 days till the beginning of the flight campaign!

We promised you to tell you what's in the box...The huge box is our Climate Chamber if you want to know what's inside, just watch the video! :)

Our experiment needs to withstand extreme conditions in the upper layers of Earth's atmosphere where temperatures can drop as low as -80°C and radiation as well as vacuum create very hostile environment. For that reason, our team needs to conduct many tests in the climate chamber to ensure that all of our components are well designed and properly insulated to work in the aforementioned conditions.

What is in this box? Tell us what you think in comments! We're going to choose from people who answer right and one of you will get a little gift from us!

To make it easier, we've got two hints:

1. It's not a dick. ;)
2. We've got some tests using this "box" scheduled tomorrow.

Soon we're gonna reveal the secret! Like our page to get to know the answer. :)

------------------------------------------------------------

Oh wow, we have been silent for quite some time but it's time for a change. ;) From now on, we'll be providing you with new information, pictures and videos explaining our experiment, its components design and manufacturing process. So let's start with fresh updates!

After 10 months of designing, experimenting and manufacturing we are happy to show you the first tangible (literally) results: The "Box II Set" prototype is manufactured and prepared for further testing in following days.

The Box II set is something like an eye of our experiment. In the of heart of the box is placed one of pressure sensors which are collecting the data about the atmospheric pressure in specific altitude. With all its components, each set costs approximately €1100. In total we have 5 Box II Sets used in our experimental assembly.

Wanna know more? Like our page and follow the updates!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks to Jan's great effort during last SEDv2 moments we can now present (hopefully) the final mechanical design of our experiment. Our power supply is working and our converter PCB design was sent to manufacturer.
