🫸 When advanced robotics and high-energy X-ray imaging come together, new limits of NDT are redefined!
Last year, we successfully completed the installation and implementation of our largest and most technically demanding NDT system to date at CERN.
The system was delivered for the inspection of accelerator components and fully commissioned in CERN’s NDT laboratory by the end of the year.
Developed by Radalytica a.s., part of AdVisiones Technologies, it is built around two Universal Robots UR20, a 225 kVp X-ray source, and a flat panel detector, all integrated into a fully custom-made mechanical structure designed for maximum flexibility and robustness.
This project required us to push into several new technical territories — from integrating a higher-energy X-ray source to detecting very small cracks in materials hidden inside meter-scale tubes. We believe the result is strong, and most importantly, the client appears to be satisfied.
For us, this is a major milestone. It opens new opportunities in the inspection of robust components and thick materials, such as aircraft engines, turbines, or components for nuclear power plants.
🙏 A big thank you to the entire team for handling this challenge so professionally and for delivering an excellent result, and to the CERN team for their trust and excellent cooperation.
