♻️ Are you wondering how to extend the life of an older solar power plant? The answer may lie in a solution known as . It means adding other technologies to existing photovoltaic (PV) plants, such as battery energy storage systems (BESS).

💰 Thanks to this smart economical and technological solution, it is possible to store electricity and sell it at the most expensive times of day (up to EUR 300/MWh) and move to the top of the duck curve.

☀️ Owners of old PV systems have a big advantage thanks to their existing infrastructure. They often have access to a connection to the distribution network and transformer station, they have an approved zoning plan, etc. This greatly simplifies the BESS installation process compared to greenfield projects.

🔋 A system supplemented with BESS can help in many ways, such as balancing fluctuations in production and consumption, optimising grid supply, adapting to market conditions (e.g., flexibility trading) or keeping the project economically viable even after the end of financial support.

🔌 From paper to grid in just 12 months. The largest project in Southern Germany is now connected!

🟡 Our team has successfully delivered a 17 MWp agri-PV installation, combining clean energy production with cultivation of wheat and sugar beet under the panels.

🌱 A 17 MWp PV installation spread across 28 hectares, with 90% of the land still actively used for agriculture, combines modern modules with single-axis trackers (E–W orientation) to achieve up to 30% higher energy yield thanks to sun-tracking technology. The structures can be tilted into a fully vertical position to allow agricultural machinery to pass through.

⏱️ One of the key advantages of agrivoltaics is speed. This project was completed in just 12 months – from land acquisition to commissioning – compared to the usual 2–3 years. This is possible because there is no need for zoning changes and agricultural land use is fully preserved.

📊 According to the developer Metavolt, agri-PV projects typically achieve returns between 8–22%, with a payback period of 7–14 years depending on system type and subsidies.

🤝 This project was installed by Greenbuddies.eu for MaxSolar GmbH and Feldwerke Solar GmbH as an investor. It is a great example of how energy and agriculture can move forward together.

☀️ We are strengthening our position in Italy and launching new projects!

🌍 Italy is becoming one of the key markets for installations, and not just for Greenbuddies.eu. Thanks to the opening of our local branch last year, we have a strong foundation and local Buddies right in the Italian market.

🛠️ Our teams are now beginning work on two new projects: a 5.29 MWp (EPC) and a 4.4 MWp ground-mounted solar plant.

🔙 We’re not starting from scratch in the Italian market. In the past, we’ve completed projects here such as 11.6 MWp across four sites near Venice, a 16 MWp project near Ferrara using PV trackers, and others.

💪 We look forward to the upcoming projects awaiting us in Italy.

☀️ Our team has just kicked off a new ground-mounted PV in Germany.

♻️ Near the spa town of Bad Liebenwerda, construction has begun on a 20 MW solar power plant. Step by step, the site is transforming into a field of photovoltaic panels that will soon deliver clean, renewable energy to the region.

💪 A big shoutout to our project Buddies Jan Ryba and Svatopluk Ludvík, who have been taking care of this project from the very beginning. We’re looking forward to seeing the final result.

🚧 Construction update from the north!

🌍 GreenBuddies' installation teams are currently building several large-scale solar projects in .

💪 In total, more than 50 MWp is under construction in this cold and rocky country, in several projects.

🟡 Greenbuddies.eu has been operating on the Swedish market for nine years, during which time we have delivered photovoltaic installations with a capacity of over 100 MWp.

🌪️ Our teams often meet really tough Nordic conditions, such as rocky subsoil, difficult terrain, rain or changeable weather. And yes, we are able to deliver high-quality PV installations even in these conditions.
