What does the combination of Czech engineering and Gabonese pineapples taste like? 🇨🇿🤝🇬🇦

This special setup is a fully equipped modular juice processing plant headed for the West African nation of Gabon, where it will be used to process top-quality local pineapples. 🍍

The whole idea originated as a tribute to the professional beginnings of KOMA’s founder, Mr. Stanislav Martinec, who once started out working in a juice processing plant himself.

For the implementation, we joined forces with Pharmix, which supplied state-of-the-art stainless steel crushers and presses; the project originated from an initiative and with significant support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic more than a year ago.

The unique, minimalist graphic design on the modules combines the national colors of the Czech Republic and Gabon as a symbol of a strong partnership.

From French manuals to the recent rare visit by a delegation from Gabon right here in Vizovice, we’ve enjoyed this project from the very first screw. 🌍⚙️

A perfect balance of aesthetics, functionality, and speed of construction. ⚖️

The shell of the Jinotaj Elementary School was constructed from 38 modules in just six working days. The result is a two-story building with an arcade that invites people to gather, and a rooftop terrace where students can learn and relax under the open sky. 🏗️

The building’s exterior blends into the film studio complex in Zlín and demonstrates that even a public building can have its own character. Exterior blinds, an airy steel structure, and generous glazing complete the modern look and functionality of the entire building. 👌

🩺 The new psychiatric ward in Ostrov is fully operational, and we have fresh photos for you straight from the site. Cutting-edge medicine deserves cutting-edge architecture.

🏗️ We managed to build this pavilion, which is completely unique in the Karlovy Vary Region, in just 11 months. And most importantly, without disrupting the hospital’s normal operations. While we were preparing the modules at our facility in Vizovice, life in Ostrov went on without the dust and noise of a traditional construction site.

📚 The Jinotaj Modular School as inspiration for a new approach to education.

Designer Michal Babic focused on the authenticity of materials, combining wood, color, and light. The result is a well-thought-out space that blends functionality and aesthetics. 🪵

The dominant feature of the space is a monumental staircase inspired by an EXPO pavilion, an idea that emerged after the designer’s personal visit to our manufacturing plant in Vizovice.

The glass walls of the classrooms, which also serve as libraries, connect the spaces and foster openness and collaboration.

🔧 The environment is designed as a set of specialized classrooms ranging from physics to art education and supports both teaching and community life. Underfloor heating, controlled air recovery, and smart technologies create a healthy and comfortable environment for both students and teachers.

Join us in taking a look at the house we built years ago. You often ask us whether modularity can be a viable alternative for permanent housing. Our answer lies in the heart of Paris. 🇫🇷

The extension of the 4-star Le Relais de la Malmaison hotel is proof that the ML modular system makes no compromises. A total of 44 modules created 28 fully air-conditioned rooms, each with its own balcony and bathroom. 🏨

The main reason for choosing the KOMA solution was its environmental friendliness. The entire four-story building was constructed right in the park without burdening nature with the noise and dust of lengthy construction. 🌳

A modern school with a big heart. 👦

The Jinotaj modular elementary school is not just about numbers: 800 m², 38 modules, shell construction in six days. It is mainly about the children who have been following the project from the beginning. They visited our production facility in Vizovice and symbolically started the school year by tapping on a model of the new school. 🏫

It is the result of close cooperation between architects, investors, and the implementation team. The building meets demanding environmental standards and offers passive operation with intelligent control. And at the end of the day, the sunset from the terrace reminds us that even a school can be a place where life is good. 🌇

Did you know that our iconic modular cafeteria was the very first project by the now world-famous Chybik + Kristof Architects studio?

Our modular dining hall in Vizovice is not just a place to go for lunch. It is a symbol of our philosophy and the beginning of a great friendship. It was here that our long-standing collaboration with architects Ondřej Chybík and Michal Krištof began. 🤝

🏗️ It was their very first project, and the result? A modern, light-filled space made up of 19 M-Line modules, which offers our people well-deserved relaxation thanks to its large windows and playful interior. The cafeteria was followed by a successful EXPO in Milan and our Innovation Center.

And what lies ahead?
We are currently working together on an ambitious project called Nový Čech Community Center. Modular architecture simply has a future, and we have been enjoying writing it with the best since 2013.

A land of fire, ice... and our modules! 🇮🇸

For many, Iceland is a dream destination, but for us, it is primarily a fascinating technical challenge, which we successfully took on last year. 🌊

Why Iceland and why modularity?
This country is known for its harsh and unpredictable weather. This is where the greatest strength of our buildings comes into its own: speed and independence from external conditions.

While the wind whips and the weather is bleak on the island, we calmly prepare the finished modules in our production halls with millimeter precision. A complete solution is then sent to the site, minimizing the time spent on assembly in difficult terrain. 🏗️

What is already standing in Iceland?
👉 We have built a modern police station in the village of Reykjanesbær.
👉 We are currently working on another large project, a modular camp near the Hvammur hydroelectric power plant. It will offer facilities and 32 apartments for construction management.

Iceland is a country with an incredible history, where children still read Viking sagas in the original. We are proud to contribute to this tradition with a modern chapter on efficient and sustainable construction in the 21st century. 🌍

🏥 The new psychiatric ward in Ostrov is now operational.
⏱️ In 11 months and without disrupting hospital operations.

The psychiatric ward is a unique facility in the Karlovy Vary Region. It has increased capacity to 96 beds and significantly improved the availability of acute mental health care.

We prepared the modules at our plant in Vizovice, and only assembly and finishing work was carried out on site. This minimized the burden on the surrounding area and hospital staff and reduced construction time to a minimum. 🏗️

The new ward in Ostrov is the third large healthcare facility we have built. In 2020, we handed over an orthopedic ward in Karviná, followed four years later by a surgical ward. There were small clinics before, such as an eye clinic in the Netherlands, and we are now preparing another surgical ward in Vrchlabí.

The interior of the new modular nursery school in Cabaj-Čápor was designed with an emphasis on comfort, clarity, and a safe environment for children and teachers. 👧🧒

The modular solution made it possible to create a functional layout of classrooms and facilities that supports daily operations and natural movement for children. 🪑✨

Thanks to this project, the nursery's capacity has increased by 25 children. ❤️
