Puppets in Prague Come to Prague to learn the art of creating puppets under the guidance of Czech master puppeteer Mirek Trejtnar.

We offer workshops in English on carving wooden marionettes, designing puppets for stop motion animation, manipulation and performance. For 20 years, over 800 students from around the world have made puppets in our workshops. Learn the craft of carving and designing with Prague's best artisans, and perform at the largest Prague summer theatre festival. We offer workshops on

All workshops are taught by a team of Czech puppet masters - designers, carvers, costume designers, puppeteers, musicians, film animators...

In 2016, UNESCO put Czech puppetry on its world cultural heritage list - the tradition is rich and still very much alive in contemporary Czech theatre.

🎸 Mirek made it for Michel’s new performance for heavy metal concerts. He has several Mirek originals (including the bloodstained princess pictured on the cover of Mirek’s book) which bring out the slightly surreal side of Mirek’s art

Make your eyes roll.... an ONLINE WORKSHOP that will teach you how to construct different kinds of mechanisms for moving eyes in marionettes, foam heads, and other types of puppets. From the most simple to the most complicated.
