Prof. Ute Habel, the Vice Rector for International Affairs welcomed gave an introduction on importance of internationalisation at the RWTH University. This was followed by the RTG Speaker's Lecture titled “Extreme Surgery of the Eye – Experiences in a Borderline Area”. After dinner, there was an opportunity for the 2nd cohort of doctoral researchers to introduce themselves.
