Precision machining at a scale where conventional workshop solutions are no longer practical.

Large components often present a logistical challenge long before machining even begins.
Dismantling, transport and workshop machining can quickly become complex when dealing with components of this scale.

Our mobile turning solutions bring the machining process directly to the installation site, eliminating the need to move the component. With machining capabilities of up to Ø 8,000 mm, even very large components can be machined directly on-site.

Whether working on a large or small surface, precision matters.

Even minor deviations in flatness and parallelism can affect the performance and fit of components.

With mobile milling, we machine flat, functional and contact surfaces directly on-site – with precise dimensional and flatness corrections adapted to the existing component geometry.

CNC-supported systems enable controlled machining of large surfaces and complex geometries, with continuous milling lengths of up to 6,000 mm.

A precise fit starts with precise engineering.

Using 3D-CAD data, we design insulation blankets to precisely match the geometry of the turbine casing. Complex shapes, cut-outs and interfaces are integrated directly into the design before manufacturing the blankets.

This simplifies installation and ensures that each insulation section is positioned correctly. At the same time, the individual sections can be easily removed and reinstalled for maintenance work.

From CAD design to installation – every detail is considered to combine high insulation performance with efficient maintenance.

Satisfying to watch, but hard to master.

Modern machining can achieve extremely high accuracy, but when two joint surfaces have to work together, dimensional accuracy alone does not always guarantee the required contact.
With manual scraping, high spots can be identified and selectively removed through the contact pattern to achieve the required surface fit and contact distribution. Each correction is based on careful assessment of the resulting pattern and repeated until the specified condition is reached.

Achieving this result takes more than the right tools. It requires the experience to interpret the contact pattern, recognise local deviations and determine exactly where – and how much – material needs to be removed.
A specialised skill that is becoming increasingly rare and relies heavily on the experience and judgement of the person performing it.

Combining insulation and maintenance efficiency.

Our insulation systems combine precisely fitted insulation blankets with step protection on designated areas, providing safe and practical access for inspection and maintenance. The modular design of the insulation blankets also allows individual sections to be removed and reinstalled when access to components is required.

This approach reduces the time required for maintenance work and minimizes unnecessary downtime.

Because good insulation design should not only protect equipment – it should also make maintenance as efficient as possible.

Wear, damage or dimensional deviations on shafts can affect the performance and service life of an entire machine. Removing the component for repair, however, is often time-consuming and costly.

With our mobile shaft machining, repairs and corrections can be carried out directly in the installed condition – even on large or hard-to-access shafts. Depending on the application, turning, grinding and roller burnishing can be combined in a single setup to restore complex geometries and critical bearing or sealing surfaces.

With tolerances of up to ±0.020 mm, precision is maintained where it matters most – while avoiding unnecessary dismantling and transport.

Robust insulation for large-scale applications.

For a large mixing tank, we installed a 100 mm insulation system with a trapezoidal sheet metal cladding on the cylindrical shell.

The multi-part conical top was individually adapted and finished with corrosion-resistant plain aluminium sheet cladding.

Completed in less than 10 hours.

Our Mobile On-Site Machining team recently machined a blast furnace tapping ring directly at the customer's site. The whole operation was finished in less than 10 hours, including:

✅ Equipment setup and alignment

✅ Machining (8 mm material removed)

✅ Removal of our equipment

✅ Final customer inspection

By performing machining operations directly on-site, there is no need to dismantle or transport components. Combined with fast and precise ex*****on, overall outage times are kept to a minimum.
