PIONEERING SPOTTED WOLFFISH FARMING THROUGH KNOWLEDGE SHARING
This week, we had the opportunity to visit two of our partners working at the frontier of farmed spotted wolffish (Anarhichas minor) at different life-stages, with a strong background in both research at Akvaplan Niva and farmed experience at Amar Seafood.
Spotted wolffish is known for its high potential as a farmed species, with high growth, even at high densities, no aggressive behavior, little disease challenges, and high slaughter yield. As a fish feed producer, we at Aller Aqua want to be a hands-on development partner. We are there to ask the right questions, understand species and site-specific needs, and turn insights into practical feed improvements.
These visits gave us valuable new perspectives and reinforced something we strongly believe in, real progress happens through open collaboration, knowledge sharing, and growing together. With these learnings, we are building a strong baseline for continued cooperation, focused on developing a suitable, sustainable feed concept that supports robust performance while keeping responsible production as long-term goals.
Follow us on our exciting journey together with these partners in the future of farmed spotted wolffish.
