The VT 1 OCC Mo CU by Visatec is a mobile control unit for industrial inspection cameras. Its rugged case design brings together a wide range of functions: an integrated display, camera control, video recording, snapshot capture and remote operation, along with numerous interfaces for camera systems and external devices — including HDMI, USB and LAN.

The layout of the control interface was designed by Visatec, consistently following the principle of “form follows function”: connectors, controls, keyboard, trackball and ventilation areas are arranged within a compact layout to keep operation clear and user-friendly despite the system’s complexity.

The custom front panel is manufactured by Schaeffer AG in Berlin — an example of how thoughtful product design and precision CNC machining come together.

We are best known for our custom front panels. However, many customers from industry and research also rely on us to manufacture precision-machined components.

One example is the THz Materials Analysis Center (THeMAC) at Linköping University in Sweden. The center conducts fundamental research in materials science. Among the techniques used is ellipsometry – an optical measurement method for determining the dielectric properties of materials and the thickness of thin films.

For the sample holder of a terahertz ellipsometer, we manufactured a custom-machined component. The sample holder accommodates 3-, 4-, and 5-inch semiconductor wafers, which are securely held in place by vacuum and can be precisely tilted and positioned using micrometer screws.

From a missing standard solution to a custom-made one.

For the wall mounting of his sound system, our customer designed two individual brackets for a speaker and a soundbar using the Front Panel Designer. The parts were then manufactured from aluminium and powder-coated.

The result: a high-quality, custom-fit and durable solution.

Beyond front panels: custom CNC parts for industrial use

What else can be created with the Front Panel Designer? These two in-house projects from our production facility show just how versatile CNC manufacturing can be.

To store our aluminum blanks, we use a wooden rack built by a carpenter. To reinforce it for long-term use, we designed custom aluminum angle connectors. They strengthen the rack at the top and bottom and have proven their value in daily use for more than 20 years. An investment that has paid off.

We applied the same principle to a production workbench, reinforcing it with custom-made brackets. They improve stability and durability and show how standard solutions can be upgraded in a targeted way.
