PROJECT NEWS | CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS

We are pleased to share continued progress across two active sites in Buenos Aires and Asunción.

At **Plus Barracas**, Buenos Aires, the project is advancing through its structural phase. We are pouring the concrete for the ninth-floor slab; we are now nearing completion of the structural work on the project and are starting to work on the internal walls of the lower floors.

A CLOSER LOOK.

The Centrum Warenhaus, a former department store and an iconic landmark in East Berlin, was built in 1979. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, it was owned by the Galeria Kaufhof Group before succumbing to the retail apocalypse in the mid-2010s. The goal was to convert this large structure into a hub for Berlin’s growing startup community, integrating new and modern office spaces. The existing building was stripped down to its concrete columns and floor plates. Triangular prisms were cut Ito each side of the building to bring in natural light and break up the monolithic geometry. The structure was then wrapped in glass. These openings, along with a series of terraces and a careful twisting of floors, opened up views from the inside to the surrounding city in all directions. All floors have access to outdoor communal spaces for working and relaxing. What was once an interior-focused shopping center is reimagined as an outward-looking urban hub of productivity and creativity. Jasper Architects were commissioned for this project after winning an invited competition.

Near Tongoy, in Chile’s Norte Chico, we walked a three-kilometre stretch of Pacific coastline — the site of a potential project. Rock, cactus, the ocean, and a small fishing settlement at its northern tip.

We went there to walk, watch and listen. To let the place sink in before imagining its future.

For us, this is where architecture begins: asking what could emerge without breaking what is already there.

Two days of talks and conversations in Berlin during Design Days Berlin .

On Thursday, I joined the discussion on how digital tools shape the way we visualize and communicate architecture. On Friday, “Building for the Future” brought us back to the question of what architecture needs to respond to today — and what we want it to make possible tomorrow.

Thank you to the organizers, fellow speakers and everyone who joined us. A pleasure to exchange ideas and continue the conversations beyond the stage.

We're proud to share that we received the Smart Marina Award 2026 in the Professional Architecture category at the Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous, held at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
The concept extends Opatija's Lungomare promenade into the marina as a continuous, inhabited roofscape, housing the competition's three required elements, a marina hub, a sailing school and a sea life attraction, beneath a single folding roof that steps down into public
terraces and gardens overlooking Kvarner Bay.

WHAT WE DID IN SEPTEMBER

A month in motion. Time on site with our project in Asunción, a visit to a potential new site, and conversations in Paris and Santiago.
And then Berlin: Design Days, and the first time we held our book Beyond Context in our hands together with friends and collaborators.
Different places, new perspectives, and a few ideas we’re taking into October.

BEYOND CONTEXT

On Saturday, we shared the first look at our book with a small circle of friends and collaborators at Vexer Verlag in Berlin.

A moment to hold years of work in our hands, turn its pages together, and see the conversations it begins.

Our proposal for this urban development in Córdoba, Argentina, is conceived as a network inspired by its location, the city’s urban fabric and the surrounding geography.

Surrounded by mountains and rivers, the area is located next to an avenue that functions as an axis of the city with neighboring forests and protected areas.

Across 30 hectares, we created a transitional space reforesting the area and connecting through a net of cycling paths with plazas, residential and commercial volumes covered with green rooftops and terraces.

The result merges the landscape with a resilient interactive urban experience.

Casa La Isla — Asunción, Paraguay

Set on the riverfront of the Asunción Delta, this house is conceived as a sequence of indoor-outdoor experiences rather than as a single unit, arranging a composition of independent volumes around a shared triple-height living nucleus.

The covered walkways and planted roofs blur the line between building and garden, allowing nature to permeate every part of the residence. At the core of the project, communal areas open toward the pool and gardens, forming the social heart of the house.

Carefully arranged paths and green roofs establish the architecture as part of the landscape, offering a contemporary interpretation of tropical living.
