The Solar Decathlon is a worldwide architecture- and engineering competition for institutions of higher education, aiming to communicate progress in the field of sustainable building technologies and renewable energies. It is a unique opportunity to design, plan and build an individual housing solution for the problems posed by our world’s ecological development. For the 2014 edition, 20 teams fro

m all over the world have been chosen to build their solar house in the château's garden in Versailles. In June/July 2014 a small village – the solar village – will arise and the jury will crown the winning team, the new Sun King.
