A new chapter begins. 58 young people are starting their apprenticeships at our Rostock site.

This year's class brings together people from Germany, Vietnam and South Korea. Different cultures, perspectives and ambitions. But one team.

We're looking forward to learning from each other, growing together and seeing where this journey takes us.

Welcome to Liebherr Rostock! 👋

A new chapter for MV Patricia – and a powerful milestone for the heavy lift sector.

We were delighted to celebrate the official christening of SAL’s MV Patricia at our production plant in Rostock, Germany. The third vessel of the Orca Class is equipped with two Liebherr LS 800 E heavy lift ship cranes, each offering an SWL of 800 tonnes. Working in tandem, the cranes can handle up to 1,600 tonnes in a single lift.

The christening ceremony brought together colleagues, partners and customers from SAL and Liebherr, as well as guests from politics and industry. Patricia Rüf, Member of the administrative board at Liebherr-International AG, had the honour of serving as the vessel’s godmother and giving MV Patricia her name.

It was a special occasion to celebrate the vessel, the people behind her and a long-standing partnership between SAL and Liebherr.

We wish MV Patricia, her Master and crew fair winds, following seas and every success on the voyages ahead.

Transform: Stronger.

How can existing container handling equipment be adapted to changing operational requirements?

With Liebherr Transform and its 'stronger' upgrades, existing cranes can be upgraded with increased lifting height, outreach or lifting capacities. This helps our customers handle larger vessels and heavier loads while supporting faster turnaround times – and get more out of the cranes already in operation.

With structural upgrades, Liebherr Transform can also extend the service life of existing cranes. These engineered upgrades are carried out by our service engineers with minimal operational disruption.

And 'stronger' is just the beginning. Stay tuned for 'faster, smarter and greener'.

People are at the heart of every successful change.

For Ulrike Schlutt, organisational development is about much more than introducing new processes or systems. It is about building trust, strengthening teams and creating an environment where people can succeed together.

Fog over Orkland Havn, Norway. Right in the thick of it, NCL Vestland is handling containers with two Liebherr LS-C 80 ship cranes.

The cold air, the calm water and the wisps of fog create a memorable scene. A striking contrast between wintery conditions and a busy day at the port.

Thanks for capturing this great moment!

Built on experience. Ready for what’s next: After more than a decade in continuous operation, Rocktree is replacing its two CBG 300 transshipment cranes with two new CBG 310 cranes.

The upgrade brings higher hoisting speeds, increased load capacity and improved operator comfort. With a hoisting speed of up to 130 m/min and a lifting capacity of up to 45 tonnes, the CBG 310 is designed to support faster and more efficient bulk cargo handling.

The next generation builds on what Rocktree already knows.

Give me an ‘e’ for e-power. And an ‘s’ for the solution.

How well do you know our electric drive for mobile harbour cranes?

Five key benefits are hidden in the grid. Can you find them all? Look horizontally or vertically. No diagonal lines!

Our e-drive can be installed on new cranes or retrofitted to existing ones. It helps reduce emissions and operating costs. Less maintenance is another benefit.

1,290 tonnes. 80.5 metres. That is the scale of the monopiles being loaded onto DEME Group’s Orion in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, for the Nordlicht I offshore wind farm.

Captured in late June, the photo shows our offshore crane lifting one of these giants from a barge. With a lifting capacity of up to 5,000 tonnes, the crane has the capacity to handle loads of this scale.

And there is a special connection: both the crane and the monopiles were born in Rostock, Germany. The HLC was built at our maritime production plant, while the monopiles were manufactured by our neighbours EEW Group. Both companies are located at Rostock’s overseas port.
