CeraMaji Ltd is a social enterprise in Kenya dedicated to providing an affordable and effective point-of-use ceramic water filter that is locally produced and simple to use. By purchasing their filters, we support the use of local materials, like clay familiar to the community, which they enhance to achieve a 99.9% reduction in common water pathogens.
In addition to providing clean water solutions, CeraMaji Ltd aims to develop an innovative and socially-driven business model. This model empowers and employs entrepreneurs in target markets through a gain-sharing franchise system. They aspire to have 50% of their sales driven by community entrepreneurs by 2025.
Their venture addresses two significant challenges faced by East African urban slums and rural communities: lack of consistent access to potable water and the extreme poverty and inequities prevalent in these areas. 🌿💧
