Following discussions at the Trelleborg Trenchless Summit 2026, many customers asked about the future of mercury-containing UV curing lamps.

The good news:
✅ Existing UV systems can continue to operate normally
✅ Replacement lamp availability for installed equipment remains secured
✅ We currently expect continued availability for new systems as well

According to Matthias Peppel, Innovation Director Pipe Repair at Trelleborg Water Infrastructure:
"LED technology is developing rapidly, but medium-pressure mercury lamps continue to offer performance levels that remain important for many rehabilitation applications."

Trelleborg continues to closely follow both regulatory developments and advances in UV-LED technology to ensure customers can make informed decisions.
