Did you know that sustainability at Kautex also includes how we manage water resources at our plants?

At our PUEBLA and SILAO locations, rainwater harvesting systems have been introduced to support more sustainable water usage in daily operations. By capturing and reusing rainwater on-site, these systems help reduce reliance on external water sources.
The impact is measurable: these initiatives have already enabled a reduction of approximately 25% per site in water withdrawal from third-party suppliers, contributing to greater resource efficiency and operational resilience.

This is one example of how Kautex translates sustainability goals into tangible, site-level actions, optimizing resource use while supporting long-term environmental performance.

With the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) introducing a minimum requirement for 35% post-consumer recyclate (PCR) in many packaging applications from 2030, flexibility in material concepts becomes key. Our standard recycled content options of 35%, 50%, and up to 100% PCR enables application-specific solutions that balance regulatory compliance, product safety, and sustainability performance.

Certified according to ISO 14021, the declared PCR content of our products is independently verified, ensuring credible and transparent sustainability communication.

This is how we combine regulatory readiness, verified transparency, and application-specific design, towards more sustainable packaging solutions.

At Kautex, sustainability improvements often come from smart technical upgrades. At our CWC site, two compressors are planned to be converted from water cooled to air cooled systems in June, an operational change expected to deliver a measurable impact once implemented.

Based on current projections, this optimization is expected to reduce water consumption by around 38 million liters, contributing to an anticipated 8% reduction in total Kautex water withdrawal, based on the 2025 baseline.

It’s a strong example of how targeted infrastructure decisions can help conserve resources, strengthen efficiency, and support our broader sustainability goals, one system upgrade at a time.

Did you know that through our Shopfloor Career Path Program, Kautex makes development opportunities transparent, showing how hands on roles in manufacturing can develop in multiple directions, including technical depth, specialist functions, team focused roles, quality or process oriented work, and broader operational responsibilities, depending on individual skills and interests. By clearly outlining the experience and capabilities needed along the way, the program gives employees clarity, structure, and ownership over their next steps.

Kautex also connects day to day shopfloor experience with targeted learning and upskilling to turn these career paths into practical, achievable journeys. This approach strengthens skills, engagement, and future ready manufacturing capabilities, supporting sustainable careers built from real production expertise.

Because building innovative products starts with investing in the people who make them.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the importance of caring for mental wellbeing — at work and beyond. Mental health plays a role in how we show up each day, manage stress, and navigate life both inside and outside of the workplace.

That’s why Kautex offers resources like Life Matters, a free and confidential 24/7 support hotline available to employees and their family members. Whether someone is facing stress, mental health concerns, or everyday life challenges, having access to support at any time can make a meaningful difference.

By sharing resources like Life Matters, we’re reinforcing our commitment to supporting the whole person and creating a workplace where help is accessible, wellbeing is valued, and no one has to face challenges alone.

Did you know that sustainability at Kautex doesn’t stop with our products, it extends into our workplaces, too?

Across several Kautex locations, we’ve introduced waterless urinal systems, a simple but impactful infrastructure upgrade that delivers measurable environmental benefits. These systems operate without using water, eliminate odors through smart design, and significantly reduce overall water withdrawal at our plants.

So far, three Kautex sites, KISA, KOC, and KWK, have implemented waterless urinals, supporting our broader efforts to reduce resource consumption across operations.

It’s a great example of how everyday decisions inside our facilities help turn sustainability commitments into real, trackable impact.

CWC is celebrating its 118th birthday this weekend!

CWC is the oldest company in Textron’s entire portfolio, with 118 years of history behind it. The Muskegon based foundry was acquired by Textron on April 19, 1956, during a period when Textron was expanding its industrial holdings. That acquisition marks the beginning of a 70 year relationship, making CWC Textron’s longest tenured company.

Over the years, CWC has continued to evolve while maintaining its strong manufacturing roots. Its long-standing casting capabilities eventually led to its inclusion under the Kautex umbrella in 2003, further expanding the strength of the organization. As CWC celebrates 118 years in April and seven decades with Textron, it continues to represent a unique blend of heritage, resilience, and long-term partnership within the broader Textron family.
