🔍Proud to share the results of our latest research:
“Investigation of Interaction Effects with Flame Arresters Installed in Series” by Michael Kreißig, Michael Davies and Nils Schweiger, now published in CEP (Chemical Engineering Progress) by AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers).
In many industrial applications, flame arresters are installed in series. The interaction between these devices in close proximity has not yet been investigated, but it can have a decisive impact on functionality and thus on the effectiveness of the safety concept.
In our study, we examined deflagration arresters and stable detonation arresters to quantify how a downstream arrester affects an upstream arrester and to derive design guidelines for safe separation distances.
We hope these findings support engineers and safety professionals in developing robust and efficient explosion protection concepts that safeguard people, assets, and the environment.
