Last week, we welcomed customers to our upgraded Training Center in Humble, Texas. 🤠
Here, trainees can climb a real turbine tower, work on a Siemens nacelle, troubleshoot solar inverters, and practice rescue scenarios - all in one place. Thanks to over 18 months of planning and collaboration, we’ve set new standards for technical and safety training in the US. That means every technician starting their journey at DWT benefits from global experience, real-world setups, and a strong community dedicated to excellence.

Inclusion starts long before day one on the job – it starts in the hiring process. 🤝

As part of the project, our german Recruiting team at Deutsche Windtechnik took a close look at how we can make our recruitment process in Germany more inclusive – for all candidates.

We didn’t just talk about physical accessibility.

We looked at:
• the language we use in our job ads and communication
• our process steps and timelines
• potential barriers and uncertainties candidates might face

Our team reflected on existing job postings, practised interview situations and discussed concrete scenarios from our daily work.

A particularly important part of the project was the exchange with a mentor with a disability, who shared her experiences in different recruitment processes. Her perspective made very clear how demotivating missing information and unclear procedures can be – and how crucial transparency and a respectful, appreciative approach are.

At the same time, it was encouraging to see that we are already doing many things well as a company – and that small adjustments can have a big impact on how people experience our process. ☺️

Our Team Lead Recruiting & People Development sums it up this way:
“For me personally, the project has mainly raised my awareness of how diverse barriers and needs can be. We are certainly not perfect yet, but we are much more conscious about including this perspective today and are continuously developing our processes step by step. That is exactly what we are taking with us into our day-to-day recruiting work as a team.”
