From energy security to new energy carriers, the tank terminal industry is facing one of the biggest transformations in its history.
This week, we are looking forward to attending the Unabhängiger Tanklagerverband e.V. (UTV) Mitgliederversammlung 2026 in Hamburg.
Across the industry, important discussions are taking place around resilience, energy security, critical infrastructure, e-fuels, biofuels, CO₂ logistics, and the role terminals will play in supporting the energy transition.
While much attention is given to future energy systems, one challenge is often underestimated „How do we adapt existing infrastructure quickly, safely, and economically enough to keep pace with change?“
Most of the infrastructure required for the transition already exists. The challenge is not starting from scratch, but understanding, validating, and upgrading brownfield assets efficiently. This is where we believe Brownfield Infrastructure Intelligence becomes critical.
We advocate for Right-Sized Digitalization, practical digital foundations that deliver value today while preparing infrastructure for the operational requirements of tomorrow.
