MTGI1 will bring a new generation of data! 🛰

What you see in the picture is a real size model of the MTGI1, a third generation satellite designed by ESA and EUMETSAT! And next to it, of course, three of our team mates!

MTGI1's data will provide a great support to the monitoring of our planet, guaranteeing more precise information of the atmosphere and climate.

One of its sensors is the Lighning Imager (LI), which represents the first time Europe will be able to monitor lightning.

As experts in Earth Observation data we cannot wait to start looking at the data of this new satellite, coming up at the end of 2023!

We are looking for a software engineer/ computer scientist with 3 or more yrs experience in the design, implementation, and testing of complex scientific algorithm software to work as a prototyping engineer joining our service team at our client EUMETSAT in Darmstadt.

Experience if software development in C and Fortran in a UNIX/ Linux environment is required as well as data visualisation and analysis tools (e.g. IDL, Python).

Previous experience in the area of Aerosol and/or Cloud extraction from satellite imagery, or experience with image processing algorithms in the area of retrieval would be a distinct advantage. Other distinct advantages would be experience in operational data processing and/or other EUMETSAT developments.
