We have an open full-time position for a Mechanical Technician in Darmstadt, Germany.
ALCAN offers a generous relocation package to cover the moving costs if the employee is outside of the southern Frankfurt Rhein-Main area.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The well-versed technician will perform tasks related to the manufacture and assembly of devices that are part of or support ALCAN's antenna product development.
The technician will assemble, calibrate, test and modify mechanical, electrical and electronic devices down to the component level and be involved in their design.
Responsibilities:
- Establishment and maintenance of a professional workshop
- Support of our electronic and mechanical research and development department
- Construction of special machines and devices
- Assembly and testing of antenna prototypes
- Procurement of tools and parts from external suppliers using German and English.
- Operating machines and using hand tools and power tools to machine and assemble parts
Experience:
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering, science and technology
- Preferably, completed of a formal apprenticeship or work experience program
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Must be a passionate, self-motivated, and ideally an ambitious hobbyist about Mechanical and/or Electronics related devices/machinery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in:
- German (B1 /B2 Level)
- English (Intermediate Level)
- Essential to have good working IT Skills
