A conveyor belt can do more than simply transport components.

By integrating the eddy current sensor directly into the conveyor, the material flow becomes part of the inspection process. Each component passes the sensor in a defined position and is inspected without contact during transport.

Ulm, Technik, Wirbelströme - das war unsere testXpo 2026.

Vier Tage voller Technik, Innovation und industrieller Perspektiven: Vom 12. bis 15. Oktober wurde das Gelände der ZwickRoell GmbH in Ulm zum Treffpunkt für zukunftsorientierte Lösungen im Maschinen- und Anlagenbau.

Mit unseren Wirbelstrom-Prüfgeräten waren wir auf der testXpo mittendrin. Unser Experte Jürgen Jaspers vertrat die Rohmann GmbH vor Ort und nutzte gemeinsam mit Alexander Sommer von unserem Partner Gollub Werkstoffprüfung GmbH & Co. KG die Gelegenheit zum fachlichen Austausch und zur Präsentation unserer Prüftechnik.

Unser Antrieb? Fehler aufspüren, die dem bloßen Auge verborgen bleiben, Materialeigenschaften analysieren und Prüfprozesse auf ein neues Level bringen.

Als Verfahren der zerstörungsfreien Prüfung ermöglicht die Wirbelstromtechnik die zuverlässige Prüfung von Werkstoffen und Bauteilen - ein wichtiger Baustein für industrielle Qualitätssicherung.

Reliable material sorting does not end with detecting a material variation. The correct component must also be removed from the material flow at exactly the right moment.

An encoder integrated into the conveyor continuously tracks the movement and position of each component. At the same time, the line-scan camera inside the CheckBox detects the component length.

The system uses this information to control the blow-off process:

📍 Precise tracking of each component on the conveyor
📏 Automatic detection of the component length
⏱️ Blow-off timing synchronized with the belt movement
💨 Blow-off duration adapted to the component length
✅ Reliable removal of non-conforming components

When the inspection system identifies a material variation, the sorting decision is assigned to the corresponding component. At the ejection point, the air blast is activated with the correct timing and duration.

Precise inspection requires precise sorting.
