About the Role
The International Solar Energy Society (ISES) is seeking a dynamic Conference and Society Manager to join our small, dedicated headquarters team. This role combines strategic society management with hands-on organisation of high-quality international conferences (EuroSun and the Solar World Congress).
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, experience working with diverse international stakeholders, and a passion for renewable energy. You will report directly to the Board of Directors, lead conference planning, secure sponsorships, and contribute to shaping the Society’s strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
Society Management – Support day-to-day operations, prepare reports, organize Society awards, and coordinate meetings with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and ISES committees.
Conference Leadership – Oversee all aspects of EuroSun and the Solar World Congress, including budgeting, concept development, stakeholder management, sponsorship acquisition, and on-site coordination.
Webinars & Online Events – Organise and manage ISES online events.
Funding & Partnerships – Secure sponsorships and other funding sources; manage relationships with strategic partners, publishers, service providers, and conference hosts.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional experience, ideally in non-profit, conference management, membership organisations, or renewable energy sectors.
Languages: Excellent in English and German (spoken and written).
Skills: Strong organisational abilities, independent work style, stakeholder engagement, and budget management.
Knowledge: Familiarity with renewable energy, sustainability, or environmental topics is an asset.
What We Offer
32–40 hours per week with flexible working hours.
Possibility for partly remote work after probation period.
Permanent position (must be eligible to work in Germany).
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
Six weeks paid annual leave.
Moderate international travel.
