Experience the laser measuring device and other innovations from Tobias Schmidt. The Piano measure pro is an optoelectronic system for the high-precision recording of geometric data in piano making. The device enables contactless measurement of string positions, bridge heights or the soundboard crowne. Digital data capture minimises manual measurement errors and provides an accurate basis for subsequent regulation of the action or stringing.
Michael Symann will be present to demonstrate his ingenious grand piano tilting system. This mechanical design is intended to facilitate the ergonomic and safe transport and maintenance of grand pianos. It allows the instrument to be swivelled in a controlled manner from the horizontal playing position into a vertical position. The device is statically designed to minimise point loads on the cabinet and enable one-person operation with maximum safety.
For horizontal transport, particularly in the stage and event sector, Yuka Knopf from Japan will be at the Jahn stand to demonstrate GP-Carry and Hakobe on the instrument.

Fine tone building and perfection in touch and regulation: at the booth, you will find a wide selection of tools and materials. Our experts Frans Pietjouw and Joachim Leonardy will be happy to advise you.
In the BDK seminar, Joachim will present various hammer heads and demonstrate how the sound of a piano can be specifically improved through the correct treatment of the felt. Frans will present parameters for optimising touch and explain how playing feel and control can be specifically influenced.
