How can a hydropneumatic press improve efficiency at NERAK?

A few weeks ago, we travelled nearly 700 kilometers to attend the FAT of our new custom-built hydropneumatic press.

Today, the story continues.

The system has officially arrived at NERAK and is now up and running. What started as an idea to create a more ergonomic workplace has become reality.

But efficiency is not just about speeding up processes. It is about enabling people to work safely and comfortably every day. By reducing physical strain and supporting repeatable, high-quality work steps, the new press helps create exactly that.

What stood out most was the team spirit behind the installation. From logistics and electrical engineering to assembly, people from different departments, regardless of their role or position, came together to bring this project to life. It was a great reminder that the best solutions are built together.

The most rewarding part? Seeing an idea that started months ago become a real improvement in everyday work.

A big thank you to SCHMIDT Technology GmbH and Helmut Ketterer for their outstanding support throughout the entire project journey, from the first engineering phase to the FAT and final installation.

What does a successful FAT mean for project success?

This project is about much more than a machine.

For many years, one of our long-standing colleagues has carried out his work under challenging conditions. We wanted to change that. Our goal from the very beginning was to create an ergonomic workplace tailored to his needs and to make his daily work easier, safer, and more comfortable.

What makes this project especially meaningful is that our colleague was involved from day one. His experience, feedback, and perspective helped shape the solution every step of the way.

Together, we travelled almost 700 kilometers to attend the FAT of our new custom-built hydropneumatic press. The journey itself became part of the experience. Sharing the day together, seeing the machine for the first time, discussing details with the project team, and finally standing in front of the finished solution made all the hard work worthwhile. Seeing the project come to life through his eyes was a moment none of us will forget.

A sincere thank you to everyone involved in making this happen.

We would especially like to thank SCHMIDT Technology GmbH and Helmut Ketterer personally for their outstanding support throughout the entire journey. From the very first discussions through engineering, manufacturing, and the FAT, we experienced professionalism, reliability, genuine hospitality, and a true spirit of partnership. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome, supported, and in very good hands.

It was an unforgettable trip in many ways. We started our journey in bright sunshine and returned home under the same beautiful sky. But what will stay with us most is the feeling that this project was never just about technology. It was about people, trust, teamwork, and the shared ambition to make a real difference.

We are now looking forward to commissioning the system and seeing the positive impact it will have in everyday operation.

Shop. Click. Delivered within an hour. Sounds simple. But what happens behind the scenes?

As teased last week, here's how same-hour delivery works directly from a retail store.

Today, we're taking a closer look at our project in South Korea, implemented together with our partner Dae Kwang Stoeber Co., Ltd.

As soon as an order is placed via the app, the items are picked directly from the store shelves and automatically transported to the dispatch area.

The NERAK S-Conveyors connect the sales floor with the fulfillment process in a compact footprint: efficient, visible and fully integrated into the ongoing store operations.

The key challenge:
Integrating intralogistics into the retail environment without compromising the shopping experience.

The result:
- Fast internal transport routes
- Optimized processes for same-hour delivery
- Visible automation directly at the point of sale

Should intralogistics stay invisible or can it enhance the shopping experience?

Together with our South Korean partner DAEKWANG STOEBER Co. Ltd. we implemented an exciting retail project:
NERAK S-Conveyors directly integrated into the sales floor of a retail store in South Korea.

Instead of hiding the technology in the background, the systems were intentionally designed to be visible:
- Minimalist black design
- Hardened glass cover
- Processes that customers can see and experience

The result:
The Vertical conveying systems became not only part of the logistics process, but also part of the in-store attention and customer engagement.

What was particularly exciting to observe was how customers from very different target groups stopped to watch the processes in action.

An interesting example of how technology and customer experience can merge together.

The winning photos showcase a recently completed project for Fixkraft-Futtermittel GmbH in Enns, Austria. One of Austria’s largest animal feed manufacturers.

In feed and pet food applications, gentle conveying plays a crucial role:
Product breakage can impact both product quality and process efficiency.

As part of a modern multifunctional silo system, our NERAK Bucket Conveyors enable a compact and flexible system layout while ensuring the gentle conveying of:

- feed pellets
- pet food products
- sensitive bulk materials

Especially under limited space conditions, selecting the right vertical conveying solution becomes a key factor for efficient bulk material handling.

The system was installed by our Austrian partner IFK and successfully commissioned at the beginning of 2026.

A great example of how vertical conveying solutions can support efficient and reliable material flow, even under challenging space conditions.
