Every year, over 300 million tonnes of plastic are produced for a wide variety of applications. And at least 14 million tons of plastic make their way into the oceans every year!!! That is scary, isn't it?

According to an analysis of the EU Commission, EU consumers discard 5.8 million tonnes of textiles every year and only a quarter of them are recycled, the remaining 4.3 million tonnes are either landfilled or used for energy as fuel.
Textile recycling is a challenging issue. Currently, textile waste is mainly recycled for energy or shredded and used to produce low-quality material. However, as polyester is a relatively easy material to recycle, this represents a great opportunity for ADVANSA to also use recycled pre-consumer textiles as a valuable raw material for its
DACRON® Re-Comfort filling,
made from 20 % textile + 80 % plastic bottles.

Yet, after more than one week; People affected by the tragedy on 6th February may surely face a very long and hard path to recovery. During this process, among others, sleeping well at all can be difficult as anxiety is often associated with sleep problems. It will be difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night. Sleep deprivation can worsen anxiety, set in motion a negative cycle of insomnia and anxiety. Things you can do on your own may help, but seeking for treatment would be the best.
We'd like to express our deep sadness and sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the terrible earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria.

Did you know that filters are in most cases nonwovens based on synthetic fibres, e.g. PET, PP and some high performance polymers such as PPS and ox.PAN.?!
With the use of synthetic fibres, the porosity, separation efficiency and strength can be adjusted.
👉🏻Especially for food contact applications, special requirements regarding the purity of raw materials must be strictly observed.
👉🏻Drinking water – as a scarce resource - can be processed as well with the use of an ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis❗️

The soft, velvety effect on surfaces which you find in may decorative items, carpets, home textiles, clothing, even on wallpapers, car interiors and so on - that´s FLOCK. It consists of very short synthetic fibres and the length of the fibres can vary in thickness. ADVANSA offers tows made of different polymers, which can be cut in a length under 5mm and can be used for flocking. (Just imagine like tiny hairs😉)

ADVA®terra by ADVANSA is a biodegradable polyester fibre made from 100% recycled raw materials; engineered by a special process to provide biodegradation capabilities without compromising the favourable mechanical properties of PET. According to our laboratory studies based on the ASTM D5511 test scheme, ADVA®terra is expected to biodegrade to 30% to 60% within 12 months - a degradation rate comparable to some natural fibre materials which may take from some months to few years. 🇩🇪

Thanks to its innovative recycling technology, ADVANSA has the capability to produce polyester short cut fibres suitable to meet the very demanding quality requirements of base paper for wall coverings while using post-consumer recycling material as feedstock for those fibres. 👉🏻The use of such post-consumer feedstock might create some concerns at specific consumers🤔; thinking about chemical contamination from unintended misuse of PET articles. Using scientific evaluation approaches which are well-known from the packaging industry, ADVANSA can prove that the fibre manufacturing process has cleaning capabilities even suitable to produce fibres appropriate for food contact applications, like coffee filter pads and food wrapping materials.
