Small component. Big impact on BOF performance.
VGH Grou’s Multi-Hole Plugs (MHP) improve bottom stirring in the converter, resulting in:
• faster scrap melting
• more uniform bath temperature and chemistry
• faster slag formation
• improved phosphorus and sulphur removal
• lower FeO and higher metallic yield
• longer converter lining life

Our MHP solutions are based on high-performance MgO-C materials and are individually adapted to the operating conditions of each BOF.

The result: more stable converter operation and up to 7,350 heats achieved in service.
