🎉 Welcome to the team, Nikita!

We are excited to announce that Nikita Kaydanov has joined CSR Biotech Europe as a Technical Support Engineer.

Nikita holds a PhD from EMBL & Heidelberg University, where he specialized in photoacoustic and fluorescence imaging for neuroscience research. He brings hands-on experience across widefield, confocal, and two-photon microscopy, tomography imaging, as well as hardware control, image reconstruction, and system troubleshooting.

What stood out to us most is his ability to bridge deep technical expertise and strong customer communication — exactly the combination we value as we continue to grow our presence in Europe.

Please join us in giving him a warm welcome! 👋

This week, CSR Biotech brought together partners from 10 countries for the first Global Distributor Meeting in Heidelberg, Germany.

The agenda was built around technical readiness and commercial alignment. We conducted hands‑on training across our core product portfolio, walked through upcoming product roadmaps, and discussed regional market strategies. These sessions not only strengthened product knowledge but also improved our collective ability to position solutions effectively in diverse market environments.

Thank you to every partner who traveled from afar to join us. We are excited about the road ahead — Together we innovate. Together we grow. Together we succeed.

✨ MI-SIM, equipped with a 100× 3D SIM-3 objective and a 60× water immersion lens, enables high-resolution 3D imaging of mitochondria in Arabidopsis young roots.

At an imaging depth of 16.5 µm, the system captures the spatial organisation of individual mitochondria throughout the tissue volume, providing a detailed three-dimensional view of organelle distribution within intact plant tissue.

This approach supports quantitative analysis of mitochondrial positioning and morphology, helping researchers investigate cellular architecture in greater detail.

✨ MI-SIM 2D-SIM reveals real-time dynamics between mitochondria and the endoplasmic reticulum in live mesenchymal stem cells.

With 60 nm resolution and ultra-low phototoxicity, MI-SIM captures subtle ER-mitochondria interactions without disrupting normal cellular activity. This enables live-cell studies of organelle communication and contact dynamics.

🫁 Airway organoids offer a human-relevant way to study smoking-induced airway injury and potential protective treatments.

In this study, researchers used patient tissue-derived airway organoids with beating cilia to model ni****ne exposure and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) treatment. By analysing changes in ciliary beating, they identified a role for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in ni****ne-induced injury.

🔬 The findings suggest NAC may help protect airway tissue by interfering with ni****ne binding to nAChRs, adding useful mechanistic insight beyond its known antioxidant activity.

We are proud to support the world-renowned Physiology Course at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL), a programme that has helped shape generations of scientists working across biological research.

This year, our Cell Xtreme system is on site, giving course participants the opportunity to explore advanced live-cell imaging and microscopy workflows through hands-on experience.

A special thank you to Chris Stuut and Rebecca Fu for representing CSR Biotech throughout the course, supporting demonstrations, discussions, and practical sessions with attendees.

It is a privilege to contribute to such an outstanding learning environment, and we look forward to seeing the research, ideas, and collaborations that grow from this year's programme.
