The NPCA 61st Annual Convention has arrived in Reno, Nevada, bringing together precast professionals, decision makers and company leaders from across the industry.

The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino is currently filled with discussions about production, innovation and the future of precast concrete. Technical sessions, plant tours and informal conversations are creating plenty of opportunities to share experiences and learn from one another.

What will help manufacturers remain flexible as requirements continue to change? How can production concepts become more efficient while supporting a wider range of projects? These questions are shaping many of the conversations at this year’s convention.

For us, the most valuable part of an event like this is the exchange with people who work with these challenges every day. Their experiences offer important insights into where the industry is heading and which opportunities deserve closer attention.

Progress rarely comes from one idea alone. It grows through open dialogue, practical experience and a willingness to look at familiar processes from a new perspective.

Battery Moulds for Flexible Precast Production in Florida
How can precasters combine safe operation, flexible production and efficient use of space? A recent project in Florida offers one practical answer.

RATEC America installed a battery system developed and manufactured in the United States for a precaster producing privacy walls. The system consists of two twin-pocket battery moulds, each featuring a casting area of 19’5”, approximately 6 metres, in length and 10', around 3 metres, in height.
A catwalk positioned between the two mould pockets provides easy and safe access during operation. This setup supports smooth workflows while helping operators work confidently around the moulds.
The clamping process is carried out manually, and each pocket can be tensioned independently. This gives the precaster the flexibility to adapt production to different requirements and quantities without limiting both pockets to the same production cycle.
Projects like this show how thoughtful equipment design can support practical, adaptable precast production.

Unser Sommerfest 2026 – heiß, bunt und entspannt

Letzten Donnerstag feierten wir unser Sommerfest mit unseren Mitarbeitenden und ihren Familien. Das Wetter zeigte sich dabei von seiner abwechslungsreichen Seite: knapp 40 Grad, kräftiger Wind, ein paar Regentropfen und zum Abschluss sogar ein Regenbogen.

Neben Grillen und entspanntem Beisammensein war einiges geboten:
🏗️ Beim Torwandschießen wurde ehrgeizig um die meisten Treffer gekämpft.
💦 Die Wasserhüpfburg war bei den Kindern durchgehend in Beschlag.
🍦 Und als der Eiswagen vorbeikam, war die Schlange schnell länger als die am Grill.

Mit jedem neuen Teammitglied wächst auch unsere Runde beim Sommerfest. Umso schöner ist es, wenn sich Kolleginnen und Kollegen, Partner und Kinder kennenlernen und einen entspannten Nachmittag miteinander verbringen können.

Danke an alle, die dabei waren und den Tag mit Leben gefüllt haben. Wir freuen uns schon aufs nächste Sommerfest!

Behind every technical solution are the people who develop it. With our new interview series, we want to introduce the engineers and project managers who turn ideas into practical solutions and explain what makes them unique.

Our first guest is Tamás, who talks about a modular mould for transformer station production. It is the sixth mould of its kind delivered to this customer and demonstrates how engineering solutions continue to evolve over time.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗲, 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗼!
After more than 25 years of working alongside RATEC in the Italian market, Filippo Scotti will retire on June 30.

Over the years, Filippo has been a trusted contact, first and foremost through his commitment to customers and partners, and most recently through his role at Tecnogrip, part of the Damilano Group.

As we look back, many memories come to mind: evenings together at bauma, visits to Hockenheim, shared meals, interesting discussions and many enjoyable moments beyond day-to-day business.

One thing we will certainly miss is Filippo's unique ability to switch effortlessly between languages. Around our team, he became known as the "best English-speaking Italian" – a title he still holds today. 😊

Thank you, Filippo, for your loyalty, reliability and friendship throughout all these years. It has been a pleasure working together.

We also welcome Alessandro Coveri, who will take over the role going forward, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration in Italy.
