A donated machine only creates value when it is put to work.
And that is exactly what is happening at Precious Plastic Bangkok. 🇹🇭

In this video, the team shares how they use the Shredder Pro Max donated by WEIMA. It enables them to handle larger plastic items and process much higher volumes of material, making their local recycling workflow considerably more efficient. 📈

The machine is also part of a bigger story.

Together with Precious Plastic, we developed the Shredder Pro specifically for small-scale and micro-recycling projects. WEIMA contributed its industrial shredding expertise, while Precious Plastic brought its experience from a global community of local recyclers.

The result is a compact machine that is easy to operate and largely built from standard components. Its open-source plans are freely available, allowing people around the world to build the shredder themselves and establish local recycling solutions.

Seeing this shared development in action in Bangkok is exactly what the project is about: making proven recycling technology accessible where it can create real local impact. ♻️

A tough material calls for a strong shredding solution. 💪⚙️

Artificial turf may be flexible, bulky, and difficult to handle but the WEIMA W5.22 is ready for the challenge.

In this application, large pieces of turf are continuously fed into the machine and reduced to a more manageable size. The combination of a robust cutting system and powerful material feeding keeps the shredding process controlled, consistent and efficient. ♻️

23 years of partnership. A continuously evolving wood-to-energy solution 🔥✅

At Austrian premium joinery Radaschitz, craftsmanship and resource efficiency go hand in hand.

In 2024, the company upgraded its long-standing WEIMA solution with a new WL 4 shredder and TH 500 Vario briquetting press, making material feeding easier, improving energy efficiency and enabling flexible continuous operation.

The result? Around 120 m³ of briquettes per year, produced directly from wood waste generated during manufacturing. Instead of being discarded, the material is transformed into energy and used to heat the company’s own production processes. 🔥🪵

A smart, nearly closed-loop wood-to-energy cycle and a great example of what a partnership built over more than two decades can achieve.

Rejected cans are part of beverage production. The real question is what happens next.

At New Belgium Brewing, a WEIMA G.200 dewatering press helps turn production rejects into recyclable material.

Underfilled, overfilled, or damaged cans are dewatered and compressed into aluminum discs, with around 12,000 to 20,000 cans processed per shift.

The result: less volume, cleaner handling, easier recycling, and valuable material that can be returned to the cycle. ♻️

The real cost of used pallets is not the wood. It is the space, handling and logistics around them.

For many companies, used wooden pallets quickly become a logistics problem. They take up valuable space, are costly to handle and often leave the site without their remaining material value being fully utilized.

A shredder changes that process at the source. By reducing pallets directly on site, bulky waste becomes a compact and manageable material stream that is easier to store, transport and process further. ✅

The shredded wood can be prepared for recycling, energy recovery or other downstream applications, while metal components such as nails and screws can be separated from the material flow.

That is where the right shredding concept makes the difference.
