MEMS 2J for Classic Mini … now programmable (Credits to Andrew Reville for his work on the SW)

This is the famous ALM DH12 Immobilizer used on the later Defender ~2015 - 2017
(Identified by the bulky LEAR Remote Transmitter).
Its a real RPIA but we managed to decrypt almost all of it.
This one came from an unsuccesful bypass attempt ... not sure how the owner managed to toast the processor.
Luckily you still can find new µP in China - and we are able to replace and reflash those.

Sometimes you need to be Sherlock, or Watson... or both.
Patient of today: Defender 15P TD5 ECU came in ..."doesn't work"...
Normal inspection: µP not running. Power Supply: ok. Logic Part: ok. µP environment: ok ....
Took us HOURS to find out that the last guy erased the BootLoader from Flash. ☠️ Probably due to an improper tuning attempt. Took another hour getting the Flash out and externally reprogrammed. Working fine again, but this was more an educational job rather than an economically feasible one.

Severe short of coil 1 driver circuit. Reason unknown. Significant damages of 4 Layer PCB
…. running fine again (but not looking nice anymore 🥴 )
