When standard products cannot meet specific requirements, a customised solution is needed. A current project at our site in Lenting is a perfect example: one of the largest free-standing grease separators we have ever manufactured is currently being built in nominal size NS 60. ⚙️

The tailor-made drainage solution is destined for a luxury hotel in Obertauern, Austria. From design and planning through to implementation, every detail is adapted to the specific requirements of the project.

The dimensions are also evident when it comes to transportation: the wooden pallet on which the grease separator will later make its journey to Austria is around ten metres long. 🚛

A project that shows what our customised solutions are all about: combining extensive engineering knowledge with precise manufacturing to meet requirements beyond our standard portfolio.

Not every drainage solution needs to rely on continuous pumping. The hybrid lifting station Ecolift M uses natural gravity drainage during normal operation and only activates the pump when backwater actually occurs. The result is lower energy consumption while maintaining reliable backwater protection.

This means:

✔ Up to 90% lower energy consumption compared to a conventional lifting station
✔ Gravity drainage during normal operation
✔ Reduced pump operation and therefore lower maintenance requirements

After more than 18 years on the Executive Board, our Chief Technology Officer ‌Edgar Thiemt will retire on 31 July 2026.

Since joining the Executive Board in 2008, Edgar Thiemt has played a key role in shaping KESSEL's development and has left a lasting impact. He has driven the modernization of our production and organizational structures, firmly embedded lean management into our corporate culture, and provided important impetus for quality, sustainability and the continued development of our company.

"With Edgar Thiemt, we are saying goodbye to a leader who has had a decisive influence on KESSEL over many years. We sincerely thank him for his exceptional commitment, perseverance and determination to drive change," says our CEO ‌Stefan Grenzebach in recognition of his achievements.

With Edgar Thiemt's retirement, KESSEL is reorganizing responsibilities within its technical divisions, creating the structures needed for the company's next stage of development.
