From Beijing to Guangzhou to Honk Kong. ✈️ Last week, our CEO Markus Steilemann joined the German business delegation led by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Katharina Reiche.

The trip provided the opportunity to engage with policymakers, customers, partners, and colleagues across the region. In a rapidly changing global environment, these exchanges are more important than ever to strengthen relationships, better understand market developments, and identify opportunities for future growth on both sides.

From discussions on innovation, trade and competitiveness to conversations about sustainability and industry transformation, the trip offered great insights and perspectives. Equally important were the opportunities to connect with our local teams and gain firsthand impressions of the developments shaping the region.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to these conversations and made the visit such a valuable experience. 👏

Last Saturday in Filago 🇮🇹, we came together with colleagues, volunteers from local associations, and representatives from the Municipality of Filago to clean roads and riverbanks across the local area, collecting numerous bags of waste along the way. 💪

Thank you to everyone who showed up, collaborated, and helped make our community a little cleaner! 👏

This week, ten colleagues from our team in Bratislava spent half a day at Children’s Home Nádej – freshening up spaces, improving the playground, and organizing donated clothing. Simple tasks, real difference. 🙏

This partnership has been built over years: gifts for every child at Christmas, trainings during the year, and another visit already planned for summer – this time to spend time together at a barbecue on site.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with care, energy, and hands-on support. 💪

Some plastics are stuck in a toxic relationship. 💔 In the traditional materials world, substances are often fused so tightly they can never be separated. This is a recycling nightmare: an "eternal marriage" that only ends in the incinerator.

We design polymers that bond strongly during use but have a built-in "breakup scenario" for the end of their life cycle. We develop materials that separate back into their individual components at the push of a button using mild heat or enzymes. The easier it is to break these chains, the faster we reach our climate goals.

Sometimes, a clean breakup is the start of a beautiful new cycle. ♻️

Yesterday’s Annual General Meeting was a special one: The approved squeeze-out, meaning the transfer of minority shareholders’ shares to the majority shareholder, paves the way for faster decision-making and a clear strategic direction with our partner XRG.

Our CEO Markus Steilemann reflected on the fiscal year 2025 and how we are consistently driving our transformation forward. We have sharpened our processes, accelerated decisions, maximized plant availability, and directed our investments where they create the greatest value.

Dr. Rainer Seele, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Covestro, highlighted our strong technological foundation, high level of innovation, and significant potential in key future markets. This will open up new strategic opportunities for our long-term growth.

Thanks to everyone involved for making the event a success! 👏

Getting more out of what we already have. ♻️

In Dormagen 🇩🇪, we’re demonstrating how innovative technologies can make industrial processes more efficient – with measurable benefits for the climate and resources. 🌍 A powerful example of what industrial transformation can look like. ⚡

What is an 11-meter-tall steel colossus doing on a closed federal highway at night? 🤔

It’s simple: it’s on its way to its new home – the Covestro nitric acid plant in Cologne-Worringen. 🇩🇪

The journey was anything but ordinary: by ship from Turkey to Rotterdam, up the Rhine to the Salzkai in Dormagen – and then at night via heavy-haul transport on the closed B9 to the plant. The reactor will begin operations in fall 2026. 🚀
