We provide concept development, planning and engineering, equipment and systems, and a full range of services for all sectors of the glass manufacturing industry. We can provide oil, gas, electric or oyx-fuel heating systems, or combinations thereof, and we have extensive experience of both regenerat

ive and recuperative combustion air preheating systems. Our furnaces and forehearths are used to melt and condition almost all commercially produced glasses for containers, rolled plate, blown and pressed ware, lighting ware, tubing, insulating and textile fibres, stonewool fibres and ceramic frits. Our smallest furnace melts just 2,5 tons per day, whilst the largest currently produces over 525 tons per day. We currently have a total of over 250 furnaces and 700 forehearths operating and our customers produce glass in more than 70 countries throughout the world. KG

From May 20th – 21st, SORG Managing Partner Michael Sorg, Thomas Breitfelder and Andreas Beier together with Miguel Ángel Espinosa León, will be in Mexico City for the Glassman Latin America.
Latin America plays an important role in the glass industry because of its vast growing market. SORG Group Completes Furnace Reconstruction for Bangkok Glass Industries

After more than 17 years of operation, the furnace built by SORG for Prachinburi Glass Industry Company Limited (PGI) in 2008 was due for reconstruction.

As part of the engineering work for the reconstruction, Nikolaus SORG revised the complete furnace design, bringing the furnace up to the current state of the art in furnace technology. The focus of the revision was the increase of the melting capacity from 180 tpd to 215 tpd, the longevity of the furnace, increasing energy efficiency and reducing emissions.
