"Why not use the PRODIGY.MP as a mixer?"
That question led Fernando Rodrigues to rethink the audio setup at Waking Life, creating a compact, flexible and redundant system designed for the demands of continuous festival operation.

At Waking Life Festival in Portugal, two PRODIGY.MP units became the backbone of the Floresta and Outro Lado stages, combining stagebox, mixing and PA processing within a single platform.
With routing, clocking and redundancy handled around the same core system, the setup reduced the number of separate devices and potential points of failure while remaining flexible enough to meet the requirements of each stage.
Across three festival editions, the PRODIGY.MP-based systems operated with zero technical failures, becoming a key part of Rodrigues’ approach to professional audio production.

DirectOut is expanding its Out-Of-Band (OOB) functionality with support for NMOS BCP-008, providing standardized receiver status monitoring for ST 2110 environments.

The new implementation gives broadcasters and system integrators greater visibility into stream health and system status.

As one of the early manufacturers to implement the new specification, DirectOut will showcase BCP-008 at IBC 2026 as part of the dedicated AMWA showcase at the European Broadcasting Union Stand (Hall 10, Stand 10.D21).
