🌌 It All Started with a Big Bang! 🌌
Join us on June 16 from 18:30 at The Keg Bar as we explore our ever-evolving understanding of the cosmos with two stellar talks and get a chance to win prizes in our pub quiz! 🎤🍻
Prof. Dr. Daniel Gruen will take us on a journey through neutron planets and kilonovae, some of the most extreme phenomena in the universe, while Dr. Christoph Saulder will reveal how our picture of the expanding universe has changed over time.

We hope you enjoyed this planet formation edition of Astronomy on Tap, where Dr. Claudia Toci guided us through cloud collapse, star formation, and disk formation, and Dr. Joe Stadler explained how these protoplanetary disks go on to craft new worlds, along with the complex processes behind them.

In 2 weeks, we’re diving into the cosmic birthplaces of stars and exploring the universe in stunning detail. Dr. Elena Redaelli will take us through how stars are born, from simple molecules to stellar nurseries, while Dr. Maria Teresa Valdivia-Mena will reveal how cutting-edge interferometry lets us image the interstellar medium like never before. 🎤✨🍻

On February 26 from 19h at Kooks we’re traveling from the weirdest corners of our own Solar System to galaxies far, far away. Dr. Sebastian Stammler will count down the five strangest things in the Solar System — and yes, number four might actually surprise you. Meanwhile, Keith Baka asks the big question: are Star Wars planets realistic exoplanets, or pure fantasy? 🪐
