The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society’s flagship conference is taking place from 1-5 June 2026 in Vienna, Austria and brings together leading researchers and industry experts to exchange ideas and advanced robotics. As one of the field’s landmark events, it continues to be a key stage for new and impactful developments in robotics.

Great news for the robotics community: we just open-sourced the full hardware design files (STLs) for the Franka GELLO and Franka GELLO Duo — teleoperation devices designed specifically for the FR3 and FR3 Duo.

This includes:
- Structural parts for single and dual arm setups
- Base variants for FR3 and FR3 Duo configurations
- Reference assembly structure and configuration notes
- Print the parts. Source the hardware. Plug in the ROS 2 stack. Start teleoperating.

Lowering the barrier to building your own teleoperation setup means faster iteration, more experiments, and more discoveries for:

How does physical AI translates into real robotic systems?

By combining teleoperation, data collection, and mobile manipulation, research platforms like FR3 Duo allow concepts developed in the lab to be tested, refined, and applied in real environments.

At the HANNOVER MESSE, Franka Robotics will showcase two demonstrations built on the FR3 Duo platform:

🔹 FR3 Duo with LABS
A teleoperation setup for structured data collection, enabling researchers to generate high-quality datasets for training robotic policies.

🔹 Mobile FR3 Duo
Extending the FR3 Duo into mobile environments, this system integrates the dual-arm platform with the Tactile Mobile Robot (TMR). Visitors will see how manipulation, perception, and omnidirectional mobility work together to support assembly tasks beyond fixed workcells.

At the upcoming Hannover Messe trade fair, Franka Robotics will showcase FR3 Duo, a dual-arm platform for AI and robotics research, combining precision manipulation, integrated perception, and teleoperation for data collection, training, and policy ex*****on.

Visitors will also see Mobile FR3 Duo, which combines the FR3 Duo with the Tactile Mobile Robot (TMR) to bring manipulation and perception into mobile environments, enabling research and applications beyond fixed workcells.

A look back to a great week at the European Robotics Forum in Stavanger!

Once again, the forum brought together Europe’s robotics and AI community - creating a space to exchange new ideas, and valuable conversations around the future of the field.

At our booth we showcased a range of hands-on demonstrations centered around data-driven robotics. Visitors explored FR3 Duo teleoperation in joint space using Franka GELLO Duo, experiencing how synchronized, contact-rich data - such as torque, force, and camera streams - can be collected in real time.

We also showed different ways of interacting with the FR3 Duo system, including handguiding, control via DESK, and teleoperation with SpaceMouse.

Food for thought for the weekend: a reminder of where robotics started – and where it is heading.

The 2nd German Robotics Conference showed again: robotics grows at the intersection of research, industry, start-ups and politics.

A highlight was the RIG Heroes Award Night, proudly sponsored by FFranka Roboticsand Agile Robots. The Robotics Institute Germany honored Prof. Dr. Gerd Hirzinger with the first-ever RIG Pioneer Award, now renamed the Gerd Hirzinger Award. The award was presented by Zhaopeng Chen, CEO & Founder of Agile Robots.

His work at DDeutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR)laid key foundations for modern robotics and for many developments today.
