tion and repair of drill string components, drill bits, sophisticated directional drilling systems and additional equipment. Our main focus lies on the technical service for drilling applications in the oil & gas, mining, tunneling and geothermal industries. An innovative engineering department ensures continuous optimization of all MICON products. Additionally, we are in close contact with a network of several German universities to foster research and development activities. MICON manufactures drilling equipment in two independent facilities on state-of-the-art CNC milling, turning and welding machines. Latest technology and implementation of German engineering guarantee the highest degree of efficiency and quality.

We had a successful breakthrough drilling a 430m directional pilot hole for our contractor Entreprenørservice AS in Norway near Ålesund.
The equipment we had in use was a 12 ¼” directional drilling assembly with 9.5/8” MICON mud motor and mud pulse MWD system. Also in use was our MICON north seeking gyro system to check the trajectory and enhance accuracy.
Entreprenørservice AS drilled this job with their Rhino 600 raise bore machine which performed nicely and flawless.
We thank everybody involved for their continuous support getting this project to this stage. Next step will be hole enlargement, and we wish good luck for the further steps. Our two MICON triplex pump systems will remain on location for this.

2nd day today attending the „Advanced Drilling Technologies and Surface Engineering“ Kolloquium at the University of Freiberg in Saxony/Germany. Carsten Simms is ready for networking and taking questions and will also speak about drilling services with raise bore machines in the auditorium this afternoon.

We have been active using Directional Drilling and MWD Services on an exploration well in Mid-East Germany near Meiningen for our partnered drilling contractor H . Anger’s & Söhne.
The aim was to explore the copper horizon as precise as possible to have a clear view of the underground situation for a potential mine in the area. Even with a rather small drilling rig our service worked out fine, as the setup is perfect especially in means of mud cleaning in 3 steps and mud preparation done by the drilling contractor. Also we are happy to welcome our new directional drilling engineer Maxim Fokin who had a background of 7 years as DD/MWD engineer before.

On our most recent project in cooperation with Edilmac dei Fratelli Maccabelli S.r.L. in Forbach, Germany, we drilled a 13,75” pilot hole of 145m meters using our Rotary Vertical Drilling Tool .
The ground conditions were optimal which allowed us to drill at a rate of around 40 meters per day with a raise bore rig, and the break-through had 99% accuracy, less than a centimeter away from target!
These are the standards set by our equipment and why drilling using our RVDS leads to successful projects. The followed raise has been started already smoothly, and we wish good luck on the finalization of the whole project.
