Placing indices on a watch dial is a short move repeated endlessly. The limit is not top speed, it is the time each cycle loses to acceleration, settling and reversal.

A linear motor axis moves the load directly, with no gears and no belt in the drive train. The LINAX Lxc covers 44 to 272 mm of stroke at 8 to 114 N, with an optical measuring system at 1 µm and 100 nm as an option.

Force measured inside the controller, not next to it.

Assembling a pen injector is a force problem before it is a motion problem. Forceteq is integrated force measurement inside the drive, patented, with no external sensor. Force and position are measured 10,000 times per second directly in the servo controller.

The ELAX linear motor axis delivers the press stroke with 30 to 150 mm travel and 20 to 60 N. The XENAX Xvi servo controller carries its own webserver, so commissioning runs in the browser without installing software.

A human hair measures 0.06 mm. The motion in this clip stays under half of that.

ROTAX is a hollow shaft direct drive. The rotor is the output, so there is no gearbox, no belt and no coupling, which means no backlash to compensate and nothing that wears into play.

Resolution comes from the encoder: 2,592,000 increments per revolution, repeatability ± 0.002 degrees, peak torque 12 Nm. The hollow shaft runs up to 50 mm in diameter, so cables and optics pass straight through the axis.

1.78 newtons. That is the entire force budget for holding an egg without cracking it.

The gripper is an ELAX linear motor slide. Force is measured inside the drive and regulated in closed loop while the motion runs, so there is no delay between sensing and correction and no force peak on contact. That is Forceteq, our patented force measurement integrated in the servo controller.

ELAX slides deliver 20 to 60 N over strokes from 30 to 150 mm, with 1 µm resolution.

One point at a time. No estimates.

This is tactile measurement inside our temperature-controlled measuring room in Rain. The stylus touches the surface, the coordinate is recorded, and the value is compared against the specification for that feature. The part under the probe is the base plate of a LINAX® Lxs 200F60S shuttle axis.

Depending on the component, inspection covers up to 100 percent of the delivered parts. A part is inside the defined tolerance or it is not.

Programmed once. Repeated exactly.

The part on the measuring table is the base plate of a LINAX® Lxs 200F60S, a shuttle axis with 200 mm stroke, clamped on a coordinate measuring machine in our temperature-controlled measuring room in Rain.

The measurement follows a pre-programmed routine. It is defined once, then every part of that type is measured along the same path and checked against its specification.

Precision starts at incoming inspection.

The components of our linear motor axes are manufactured externally. After delivery they are inspected and measured in our own temperature-controlled measuring room in Rain, Switzerland. Depending on the component, inspection covers up to 100 percent of the delivered parts.

Development and production stay in Rain. Quality control at goods receipt is where that chain begins.

The LINAX Lxs F120 moves a steel plate at high speed and stops it again, cycle after cycle. Stroke lengths from 80 to 2000 mm, four-row ball guides, linear absolute measuring system for functional safety.

Power and communication run through one M16 connector. Direct drive: no gears, no backlash. Developed and produced in Rain, Switzerland.

A linear motor axis meets a fingertip: it senses the contact, yields, and returns to position. Forceteq measures force and position in real time, 10,000 times per second, integrated directly in the servo controller.
