WKS Informatik GmbH

WKS Informatik GmbH Fully automated LV124 / LV148 testing solutions for OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. We help reduce complexity and enable scalable automotive validation.

Automotive testing is becoming increasingly complex – but it doesn’t have to be. WKS Informatik specializes in automated LV124 / LV148 testing for OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers and test labs. We support our customers in transitioning from manual, fragmented test setups to scalable and reproducible validation environments. With solutions like RTStand, complex test sequences can be executed automatically,

reducing manual effort and increasing consistency. Our focus is clear:
Making automotive testing reliable, scalable and manageable – even in highly complex environments. Based in Germany, we support customers worldwide.

The standard says: run it 3 times. The customer did exactly that.
Five repetitions later — wrong behaviour.
The standard is a floor, not a ceiling. It defines the minimum. Not the point where the system has proven itself stable.
Manual testing stops where the standard stops. Automation doesn't have to.

"Random" failures usually aren't.
The conditions that cause them have been written down for years. LV 124. LV 148.

The standards exist. The tests exist. The only question is whether they get run honestly.

Part 6 — Why Automotive Systems Fail

04/05/2026

11.6 million vehicles recalled in Q1 2026.
Nearly half — electrical system defects.
Most fixed with a software update.
Which means the problem was findable.
It just wasn’t found in time.
“Random” failures usually aren’t.
They’re the ones nobody tested for.

Part 5 — Why Automotive Systems Fail

20/04/2026

Not every failure is sudden.
Some build up over time.

- small stress
- repeated cycles
→ changed behavior

Until one day: Failure.
Often not random.
Just not tested long enough.

Automotive ECU development is becoming faster and more scalable.
Validation needs to keep up.
With the 2026 release of LV124/LV148 , we focused on making testing even more transparent, structured, and scalable.

What’s new:
• Fully redesigned user interface for clearer test insights
• Higher resolution voltage and measurement displays for all channels
• Active norm visibility for improved transparency
• Extended norm library (47+ standards)
• Compatibility up to Vector 19SP4
• Framework updates for more flexible test configurations

So engineers can clearly and easily follow the ECU behavior — from disturbance application through to reporting in a structured, reproducible way!

14/04/2026

Turbo failure? Not always mechanical.
Small voltage changes → wrong actuator behavior → system issues

Often not random.
Just not tested under real conditions.

That’s where come in.
Part 3 — Why Automotive Systems Fail

08/04/2026

Airbag ECU fails → entire safety system shuts down.

No airbag. No fallback.

---

This usually isn’t random.

It’s what happens when real-world conditions hit:
⚡ voltage instability
🔌 communication loss

---

Some scenarios just aren’t tested.

That’s exactly what LV124 is meant to uncover.

⚠️ Power steering suddenly stops working?
Most think: hardware failure.
But often, it’s something deeper.
Real vehicles don’t run on perfect voltage.
And that’s where systems start to fail.

10 years. Still running. Still delivering. 💪

This RTStand LV124/LV148 system has been in continuous operation for a decade — and it’s still going strong.

No replacement. No downtime drama.
Just continuous updates, maintenance, and reliability.

👉 Real ROI
👉 Sustainable engineering
👉 Systems built to last

Quality you can measure 🔬

Back in the calibration lab — performing DAkkS calibration on our own systems.

Why?
Because reliable testing starts with reliable measurement.

✔️ Calibrated systems
✔️ LV124 / LV148 compliance
✔️ Maximum accuracy & reproducibility

Our RTStand test benches are ready to deliver precise results from day one.
