Behind our digital lives, there’s Cool Intelligence ❄️

On 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 2026, we focus on why data center cooling is critical to keeping our digital world running. This year’s motto “𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦” sums this up nicely:

Data centers power our daily lives – from work and payments to mobility and digital services. Reliable performance depends on one key factor: efficiently managing the heat load generated by high IT loads and ensuring continuous operation under all conditions. Effective cooling plays a key role in maintaining this performance and preventing downtime.

At BITZER, we use our to support reliable, efficient and future-ready data center cooling worldwide – to keep digital infrastructure running around the clock.

𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹. ♻️

The organic Rankine cycle (ORC) converts waste heat into electricity. Organic working fluids such as refrigerants, with their lower evaporation temperatures, allow ORC technology to generate power from heat sources that conventional steam power plants can‘t use – including industrial waste heat.

In many industrial processes, a large share of thermal energy leaves the system unused. ORC technology makes this energy accessible and turns it into a usable resource. It increases efficiency, reduces operating costs and supports decarbonisation. ⚙️

BPower, part of the BITZER Group, support you throughout the entire ORC technology project – from planning through to service. Modular, series-produced systems with BITZER screw expanders reduce complexity and ensure high operational reliability. They also allow flexible adaptation to each application.

𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. 💡

Last week, experts from across the industrial refrigeration community came together at the SCHAUFLER Academy in Rottenburg-Ergenzingen, Germany, for the Industrial Refrigeration Network Conference (IRN).

In keynotes, tech talks and networking opportunities, the independent conference brought together the industry to discuss current developments in industrial refrigeration and heat pump technology.

The motto “Driving natural innovation” captured it well: Innovation was a key focus this year.

A highlight was the keynote by The International Institute of All-Natural Refrigeration (IIAR), which highlighted experiences and developments relating to natural refrigerants and their importance for modern industrial refrigeration and heat pump technology.

One key takeaway: natural refrigerant usages have evolved alongside technological and regulatory requirements so that they can also be used reliably, efficiently and safely on a large scale.

Other speakers focused on topics such as energy efficiency, CO₂-, ammonia- and hydrocarbon based systems, as well as practical case studies. The conference also offered space for dialogue through networking breaks and an accompanying exhibition.

𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 to all participants, speakers and sponsors who made IRN 2026 such a great event once again – we’re looking forward to next year!

These shots come from our shoot with Jana Schmollinger and Can Köseoglu. 🎬

Jana trains as an IT Specialist for System Integration. Can studies Business Informatics. In the full video, they share what they work on and how they learn across IT.

Their story shows how BITZER links apprenticeship and study with day-to-day work. Teamwork matters. The team supports and explains. Apprentices and students share ideas, help each other and bring in their own input. They have lunch together and take on tasks from day one.

A special highlight for both of them: they spent four weeks abroad together. Watch the full video on YouTube to find out where they went and what they learned (link in the comments 👇).

𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 💡

On 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we focus on energy use. Refrigeration systems run every day and need energy. The key question is how efficiently they use it.

In refrigeration, capacity rarely stays constant. Systems operate across changing load profiles. Precise capacity control keeps compressors close to actual demand, limits load fluctuations, and supports stable system behaviour.

At BITZER, we work on exactly this point. Technologies such as 𝗩𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗞 and 𝗩𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 in combination with the 𝗜𝗤 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗘 𝗖𝗠-𝗥𝗖-02 align ECOLINE compressor performance with real requirements. The result is stable operation and energy use that follows demand — in new installations and existing systems.

World Environment Day is a good moment to look at the details that make energy efficiency possible.
