GRAVITY STORAGE.

Before COVID- which now seems like a century ago, I discussed my company's partnership with a Swiss/German startup that that can help Igboland renewable energy hub in Africa. The magic world is affordability. It will reduce the cost of electricity in Igboland by over 50% cheaper than the average cost of electricity in Nigeria today - forcing major industries to relocate to Igboland to reduce production and increase profit - doing exactly what they are doing today.

Buhari and the APC administration are one of the few governments in the world that still charge import duty on solar panels - and Nigeria the largest generator-powered economy on earth, the world’s best solar power schemes now offer the “cheapest…electricity in history” with the technology cheaper than coal and gas in most major countries.

The biggest problem has been how to store the generated energy when the sun is shining and use it when the sun is not shining like at night, early morning, and rainy days. While the price of solar panels has been plummeting the price of storage systems based on technologies like lithium and pump storage is still very high.

DISRPTIVE GREEN ENEGY ECONOMICS.

When combined with low-cost wind and PV solar, gravity smart energy storage system achieves an unprecedented levelized cost of energy delivered (LCOED) based on delivering consistent, full depth-of-discharge energy storage that does not degrade over the lifespan of the project.

Renewables harness the power of the sun by extracting energy from the endless stream of solar rays that pound Earth’s surface and the winds that course over it. Yet, the sun is often shrouded by clouds (or completely out of sight, at night), and winds ebb and flow. If the transition to renewables continues - replacing the regular, fixed power output of coal, gas, and nuclear plants with more intermittent and unpredictable sources of clean energy - how will energy providers ensure a steady supply of electricity?

The answer may lie in towers of massive concrete blocks stacked hundreds of feet high that act like giant mechanical batteries, storing power in the form of gravitational potential energy. This new energy storage concept is being advanced by a Californian/Swiss startup company called Energy Vault as a solution to renewable energy’s intermittency problem. The towers would store electricity generated by renewables when their output is high in windy, sunny conditions and release energy back to the grid when production falls as winds die down and clouds move in.

LIFE AFTER COVID-19

Blackwatts will be moving from lithium storage with a limited lifecycle to Redox-flow batteries that are highly efficient and have a longer service life than conventional batteries. As the energy is stored in external tanks, the battery capacity can be scaled independently of the rated battery power.

It simply means that our new projects will be installed with an Energy Storage System (ESS) that is going to last as long as a photovoltaic lifespan of 35 years+

So when Trump claims that climate change is a hoax - he says so inside a climatized room or hall, with Air Conditioner paid by the US taxpayers, and you, somewhere in Nigeria without electricity sweating and unable to sleep.

Ecological terrorism being perpetrated by Trump, EU, China, and India are far more dangerous than Islamic terrorism, the later kills humans and the former will kill all living organism and their habitat. One can increase the death rate and the other, human extinction.
