Drukarnia Tamir is pushing the boundaries of technology with its move into industrial digital production

Founded by Tadeusz Krywulec in 1993, the company has built a strong reputation in packaging and remained firmly family owned as it has grown.

Today, Mr Krywulec’s son Michal and daughter Adriana, together with their mother Eugenia Krywulec, are all shareholders - a clear sign that continuity still matters here. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Mr Michal Krywulec, who joined Tamir immediately after leaving college, is now the CEO. He has two school-age children, Martyna and Mateusz.

Now, as a VariJET 106 customer, Tamir is preparing for its next stage with the same qualities that built the business: experience, commitment and a very clear sense of direction.

At the upcoming ECMA Congress in September 2026 ("Folding Cartons: Powering Future Packaging"), key decision-makers across the cartonboard sector will discuss current market trends, resource-efficient production, regulatory demands like PPWR and new technologies.

As the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation applies, here are some key requirements to keep on your radar NOW:

🔹 Clear Role Definitions: Economic operators (manufacturers, importers, distributors) must clarify their specific obligations under the new guidelines.
🔹 Substance Restrictions: Strict limits apply to heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium) alongside new restrictions on PFAS in food contact packaging.
🔹 Reuse & Refill Systems: Legally binding take-back obligations are now in effect for those placing products on the market for the first time.
🔹 Conformity Assessment: Companies must prepare technical documentation to prove full packaging compliance.

Looking ahead, recycling rules will tighten even further. Producers need to prepare now for gradual implementation to ensure all packaging is recyclable by 2030 (targeting a minimum 70% rate).

One thing is clear: as packaging rules evolve, production flexibility is more important than ever.
