Her article, "Screening with potential," explores the impact of wetting and dispersing additives on the water absorption and corrosion protection of coating systems. Alina, additive expert for marine and protective coatings, also highlighted electrochemical impedance spectroscopy as an innovative analytical method that effectively complements traditional testing methods. On August 1, our new apprentices and dual students embarked on their professional journey with us at our Wesel site in Germany. We are delighted to welcome a new generation of talented apprentices and dual students who are beginning their careers with us across commercial, laboratory, production, and IT roles.

Our Welcome Day provided an opportunity to get to know one another, gain insights into our company, and lay the foundation for a successful apprenticeship and study experience.

It is inspiring to see how curiosity and first impressions gradually develop into expertise, experience, and self-confidence. 𝗕𝗬𝗞 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘇𝗵𝗼𝘂 🤩🎉
In mid-July, B*K held an inauguration ceremony for its new laboratory facilities at the South China New Material Industrial Park in Guangzhou. This investment allows B*K to further expand its technical service capabilities in southern China and strengthen its support for local customers by providing application-specific expertise.

The laboratory space has grown from 150 m² to 280 m² and is equipped with a wide range of instruments for testing various coating systems. The range of services will gradually expand to include additional application areas, such as adhesives, printing inks, and materials for new energy materials. Currently, the laboratory supports testing of water-based, solvent-based, and 100% systems, as well as analyses in the areas of leveling, rheology, dispersion, and defoaming.

Wei Jiang, Head of Sales and Key Account Management Paint Additives in China, Evan Wu, Director of B*K Asia, and Gang Fei, Business Line Manager Paint Additives in China, joined the inauguration ceremony and celebrated this important milestone together with the team. We would like to thank everyone involved in making this new laboratory a reality and look forward to the opportunities it will bring for our customers and our team in southern China.

The B*K Cycling Team was recently honored at Wesel City Hall as the most successful company in the 2026 City Cycling campaign. 🙌

City Cycling in Wesel, Germany, is a three-week, nationwide campaign organized by the Climate Alliance, in which teams aim to cover as many everyday trips as possible by bicycle. Whether on the way to work, on a weekend trip or even on vacation — every single ride contributed to this fantastic team result of 24,289 km.

On behalf of the B*K Cycling Team, representatives of the team accepted the Gold Award from Mayor Rainer Benien - Dein Bürgermeister für Wesel. As in previous years, the prize money will be donated to a charitable cause.

Our two South East Asia Seminars, held in Malaysia with our distributor S**a Chemicals (M) Sdn Bhd and in Indonesia with our distributor PT Jaya Warindo Abadi, brought together an outstanding number of participants under the theme "B*K innovation, your sustainable solution."

The seminars provided a great opportunity to exchange ideas, share technical expertise, and connect with industry professionals across the region.

How does a coating line protect large agricultural machines from corrosion? 🤔 Our Paint Lab Assistant apprentices had the opportunity to find out during an excursion to LEMKEN in Alpen, Germany.

Seeing a fully automated coating line in action gave our apprentices a completely new perspective. Many of the processes they know from the lab and their training, such as pretreatment, cathodic electro deposition coating, quality control, and corrosion testing, suddenly became tangible on an industrial scale. They were particularly impressed by the precision of the processes, the sustainable wastewater treatment, and the seamless integration of quality assurance throughout production.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to connect theory with practice and gain a deeper understanding of their future profession as Paint Lab Assistant.
