Gold for our sustainability performance 🏅

With 85 out of 100 points, ALTANA achieved its best result to date in the latest sustainability rating by the international assessment platform EcoVadis. Together with our divisions B*K, ECKART, ELANTAS, and ACTEGA, we are now ranked among the top 5 percent of all companies evaluated worldwide, across all industries.

This further increase on last year's already strong result demonstrates that sustainability is firmly firmly anchored in our business practices and and is having an increasing impact.

For us, sustainable and profitable growth go hand in hand. That is why we help our customers make their products more sustainable through innovative solutions. For example, these solutions enable the recycling of packaging, make battery production more efficient, and help ensure that the world’s largest wind turbines can generate green electricity for decades to come.

At the same time, ALTANA is working consistently to reduce its own carbon footprint and achieve net-zero emissions globally by 2050.

Several times a day, Nana Fang walks from the lab to the production floor at our ECKART site in Jinan, China. For her, quality is never the work of one person alone—it happens when people stay close to the process, communicate openly, and work together every step of the way.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀.

In Quality Control, Nana and her team make sure consistent quality is never left to chance. They monitor processes closely, spot even the smallest deviations early, and work side by side across lab and production. What makes the difference is not only experience, but how everyone pulls together.

Autonomous driving begins long before a vehicle hits the road 🚗

From development through production to repair, radar sensors must function reliably—even through painted plastic components in the vehicle. After all, advanced driver-assistance systems can only reach their full potential when materials, coatings, and measurement technology work together seamlessly.

This is exactly where we come in: B*K-Instruments, a subsidiary of the ALTANA Group, is expanding its portfolio of measurement and testing instruments through the acquisition of perisens GmbH. Based in Feldkirchen near Munich, the company is a leading specialist in radar and communications technology and develops and manufactures measurement and testing equipment for automotive radar sensors and radar covers, known as radomes.

The combination of B*K-Gardner’s many years of expertise in color and gloss measurement instruments and perisens’ patented radar measurement technology opens up new possibilities for customers in the automotive, coatings, and plastics industries.

We are also very pleased to welcome the employees of perisens to our B*K division. Together, we are ALTANA—and together, we will continue to expand our combined expertise, learn from one another, and drive innovation for the mobility of tomorrow.

After just a few months in his new role at our ELANTAS division in St. Louis, Yogaraj Nabar already knew what stood out most to him: openness, teamwork, and the feeling that people are trusted to grow.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.

For Yogaraj, leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about creating the right conditions for others to succeed. That belief was strengthened through ALTANA’s Management Development Program and became especially important during a period of major change, when teams had to be aligned and supported through transformation.

Last year, we achieved sales of €3.081 billion, driven by slight organic growth and an especially strong performance by our ELANTAS division.

With €216 million, we invested more in research and development than ever before. This represents around seven percent of our sales and underscores our commitment to driving innovation consistently and for the long term.

This commitment is also reflected at our sites around the world: from the new innovation, laboratory, and seminar complex of our B*K division in Wesel to the opening of a state-of-the-art production facility for printing inks and coatings by ACTEGA in the United States.
