Last year, we achieved sales of €3.081 billion, driven by slight organic growth and an especially strong performance by our ELANTAS division.

At the same time, we continue to look ahead.

With €216 million, we invested more in research and development than ever before. This represents around seven percent of our sales and underscores our commitment to driving innovation consistently and for the long term.

This commitment is also reflected at our sites around the world: from the new innovation, laboratory, and seminar complex of our B*K division in Wesel to the opening of a state-of-the-art production facility for printing inks and coatings by ACTEGA in the United States.

If you think science is just about laboratory tests, you're wrong. Science doesn't end at the lab door. It continues wherever processes run, facilities operate, and product innovations become reality: 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

That's why, for today's '𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦', we visited our colleague Anika Timmer from our B*K division at her workplace.

Her journey began with an apprenticeship at B*K. Today, she works as a production engineer and also shares her knowledge as a trainer for our future chemical technicians.

🍪 + 🎄 + 🎁 = For many of us, this is a normal way to spend Christmas.

For others, however, it is not.

While the festive season is a time of joy for many families, it can be a real challenge for others, and especially Christmas presents are not a matter of course. This is where we want to help and spread a little Christmas cheer.

This year, around 60 lovingly crafted paper bells are once again decorating our Christmas tree in the entrance area of ALTANA's headquarters in Wesel! These little works of art were created by elementary school children participating in the “All Children Have Potential” education project.

In this project, volunteer mentors, in cooperation with the City of Wesel, the Innenstadt community elementary school, the Klausenhof Academy, and ALTANA AG, have been supporting and encouraging elementary school children in their personal development according to their abilities since 2014.

Together with the Akademie Klausenhof, the children made crafts and wrote their wishes on the small works of art.

Thanks to the commitment of our employees, these wishes are now coming true. The colorfully wrapped gifts are already waiting to bring joy to the children. ✨

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is supporting ALTANA with a new credit line of up to 300 million euros. This will finance sustainable research and development projects from 2025 to 2028.

This includes:

Where are innovative products developed? In research and development (R&D), of course.

But innovation doesn't just happen in the lab – it also comes from interdisciplinary collaboration. That's why we're expanding our R&D team with procurement managers.

The focus is on sustainable product solutions.

“When we identify new products on the market, such as bio-based precursors, we exchange ideas with our research teams to enhance our formulations in the long term,” explains Dr. Frederic Folwaczny, Chief Procurement Officer at ALTANA.

This exchange creates added value: Oliver Schel, Global Category Manager at ACTEGA, works with teams from various ALTANA divisions to harmonize the database so that the right decisions can be made – for research and procurement.

We’re joining in the celebrations: Congratulations to all graduates of Rhine-Waal University (Hochschule Rhein-Waal) ! 🎉

A special shout-out to Shreevarshan Sivakumar, who received our award for the best Bachelor’s degree in Environment & Energy.

Our colleague Lena Neumann presented the prize, which is sponsored by ALTANA, on the Kamp-Lintfort campus. The award not only highlights that climate protection concerns us all, but also underscores the importance of connecting science and industry.

And the discussions on site confirmed once again that progress happens where knowledge, responsibility, and creativity come together. Shreevarshan Sivakumar is a great example of this connection.

We wish him and all graduates of Rhine-Waal University all the best and every success for the next steps!

Combining chemistry and economics for a quarter of a century – that deserves to be celebrated! 🎉

The Institute of Business Administration at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the WWU Münster - Münster University looks back on 25 successful years and celebrated this anniversary at Münster Castle.

For our colleague Fabian Stahl, this meant a special reunion: back at university – this time not as a student, but as a congratulator.

We would also like to congratulate the entire team at the institute, and especially Professors Simon Lux, Stephan von Delft, and Jens Leker, once again on their 25th anniversary!

At the same time, we look forward to continuing our collaboration, whether at career events at the university, through the placement of internships, in theses, or as part of the Germany Scholarship program.

Our ACTEGA division is setting new standards with Signite®: materials, printing and application technologies were conceived and developed as a trio right from the start.

One factor in this success is the interdisciplinary team, as Heidi Munnelly, Head of Research & Development – Signite®, and Grant Schutte, Vice President North America Technologies at ACTEGA, explain.

The result is a waste-free printing process on state-of-the-art application machines and a unique no-label look – completely new for applications in the field of self-adhesive labels.

It was finally time for the new apprentices and dual study students to start at our sites in Güntersthal and Wackersdorf in southern Germany.

Before diving into their day-to-day roles, the 16 new team members took part in a joint onboarding program – the perfect opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and grow together as a team. Quite literally, too: together they planted a cherry tree as a symbol of growth and sustainability. 🌱

Now it’s time to bring that energy into practice: whether in chemistry, engineering, logistics, administration, or academics – our new colleagues are adding diversity, creativity, and fresh momentum across many different areas.
